Why don't companies let you revert to an earlier firmware if you want..just have some kind of "are you sure..." warning that it's an earlier release. This sucks. And to think I was flipping a coin between this and the 360 version.

I've been playing last night and today. It froze on me last night (I save every 5 minutes) but hasn't today after nearly 2 hours of gaming. I did save every few minutes and did some pretty neat sidequests near Denerim.. :)

Well, imagine you'd indeed have your PS3 trophies sorted by name or date.. one of the new features implemented in firmware 3.30. You would revert back to the previous firmware, but what would happen to the 3.30 specific features? Revert back, choose another option (if possible) .. etc. There are practical problems reverting back with firmwares y'know :) it's not a bad idea, and not "impossible" for some minor releases.. but any firmware 'major' (like 2.x -> 3.x) or minor (3.2x -> 3.3x) it's more difficult than 'service releases' (3.2x -> 3.2y).. get it?

I have been having a problem with freezing ever since the update. I had actually noticed a decrease in lag and was quite happy until it started freezing every 20 min or so. I have a new playstation slim and my disc is spotless. I love this game so please fix this issue because nothing is more frustrating than doing things over and over again.

Same problem here. PS3 slim 250gb. I have a crash on average every 4-5 hours. Happens randomly, as said.

In all honesty if this isnt fixed by mid may its unlikely sony will do anything, its not just gamers this is messing with either! Anyone who buys a ps3 with this game will likely think its the console at fault(seen as sony are denying 3.30 is a load of poo!) costing small businesses a fortune in trade during the biggest recession ever!

All in all i want to put this 80gig paperweight through the nearest window! After having it only 2 weeks i can safely say "come back 360, all is forgiven!"

Or would, had i not spent my money on this piece of ****!

I'm glad I'm not the only one with this problem. DAO never froze in more than 100 hours of gameplay, but after the update it froze 4 times in 2 hours.

Someone must do something about it!

I read on an Italian forum that Fallout 3 is having heavy freezing problems as well after 3.30

Hahah, I knew it -

So I started playing today - was in Chantry and it froze after 2 minutes >_>

I give up and eject this disc, if they don't fix it in 2 weeks I'm returning the game.

Freezes for me aswell from 1-15 min intervalls... Goes longer if one saves often for some reason.

PS3 slim 150gb, random crashes(or turning the camera which im doing all the time).

Region 2, euro.

Havnt noticed it on other games.

I cant believe everybody at Bioware just goes home for the weekend while their game is royally F'ed up and leaves us here waiting for a fix. Bunch of lazy ****s. Its like firefighters letting a house burn down because its their day off!

It would seem to me that the resources that were available to dragon age(before the update), are no longer available. The PS3 already had a hard time running dragon age with the framerate drops, and occasional lag spikes.
DA seems to be running out of available resources, and the game now freezes because of it. I believe the update aggravated whatever problems DA already had... in which case we would be screwed... unless they find a fix for the performance issues we already had.

If indeed the update aggravated the "existing issues" DA already had, then we are all in deeper trouble than we could possibly imagine. Like a giant comet is heading directly at earth and Bruce Willis- is- on- a- vacation- kind of trouble.

Sony broke the game, not Bioware.  Also, it's unreasonable to expect that all the Bioware employees stay at work 24/7 to work on a video game glitch.  They have families and lives to attend to.  IMO, they've been great so far, communicating their progress and letting the users help them with the problem.

Also, I can't believe you compared it to firefighters staying at home while a house burns.  Really?  I think you're a bit disconnected from reality.

Well, we payed money for their products you think they'd at least keep us informed of their progress. Im getting sick of all three company's putting this issue off.

If anyone wants a fairly new PS3 slim 120 gb and a copy of DAO and DAO-A, it will be on ebay this afternoon.  I'm going to start the bid pretty low.  I just want it gone.  I'll stick to PC games from now on.  At least I know I can usually identify and fix a pc issue myself.

I know it's exaggerating, but I paid for this - I didn't but DA:O one week ago just to have it lying on my shelf.

I have the right to be annoyed. Especially that my long weekend is almost g-o-n-e.

Has bioware made an official announcement about this issue anywhere?

To everyone saying "it's Sony's fault !, this isn't necessarily so, it could quite easily be an error in Biowares code that happened to return a benign result in the previous firmware so wasn't spotted but the same code results in a game freeze in 3.30.

Before you start raging at me, of course this isn't necessarily the case, i'm just saying that blaming either entirely Sony or Bioware is silly when none of us know what the problem really is.
