OK Im another one who's just gone in to fight the archdemon and yes, like everyone else the system froze ......so the obvious question is can we remove the update and go back to the good ol days??? anyone anyone come on........... I just wanna get this one fight done!! it froze and I nearly had it dead...................nervous breakdown will occur in 5-4-3-2-AAAAAAAAAAAAAARGGGGHHHH!!!

i thought i was immune to all these problems until i got to the werewolf ruins. its non stop crashing in there for me.

pathetically frustrating.

if im forced to stop playing this game for fear of damaging my system with the constant resetting im doing then im unlikely to play dragon age again. i get far too many games to bother with something that doesnt work.


seeing as devs want more info :

ps3 slim 250gb - 2 weeks old - uk region - 3.3 firmware updated - machine updated before ever playing DAO
dragon age vanilla game (no dlc's included with the game)
shale + return to ostagar + wardens keep dlc bought from ps3 online marketplace.

freezing occurs anywhere. i dont move whilst the manual or autosaving messages are still on screen (i always figured that was asking for trouble) and it will still crash the machine at some random point.
picture just freezes, a hard drive access will occur every 30 seconds
or so, no buttons work. have to power off, machine wont power off instantly it will wait several seconds and beep repeatedly then power off.

-couple times the game crashed in the mages tower, both happened on the same floor.
-random crashes in generic areas. whilst wandering the world map.
-lots and lots of crashing in the brecilian forest areas + ruins.
-no crashing at all was experience by me in the kokari wilds, ostagar at start of game, dwarf commoner origins start, lothering.

-have tried playing the game whilst having both manage profile options switched off/unticked. made no difference, game froze after 15 minutes or so, whilst just opening a door in the werewolf ruins. (not a door that autosaved - just an ordinary door that led into a blank, meaningless hallway - yes i am pissed off!)

They probably don't care if you will play again or not, the only thing that matters is that you already gave them your money =/

this is now starting to take the ****** and decided to ring game today the place i bought it from to find out if its possible to get a full refund for the game i informed them about what has happened to DAO and they spoke to their head office about it, they then got back to us and have said they are willing to give a full refunds for the game that aint bad as i bought it over a month ago just as long as you have the recite.



sos but i cant have a game on my shelf that don't work its like having money that you can spend

Dragon Age has been my favorite game since November, and no way I will get rid of it. I really hope there will be a fix very very soon!! I'm also playing Fifa 10 or WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, but there is no comparison to DAO!! I love it, and I'm willing to wait for a solution! I think we gotta have some type of faith in Bioware that they wanna come out with a fix, esp since DAO has been one of the best games in 2009!!

DLC should have guarantee! It's very nice to pay 40 euros and notice a day later that it doesn't work anymore! I'm a poor scholar and I would've gladly spent the money for food for example! Please BioWare fix this!

Well its monday (Which is a bank holiday here in the UK) but in the US that means Bioware staff are back at work and back to fixing the problem. I hope. I wonder if they're getting any help from Sony at all or just getting stonewalled like we are. ****ing sony not even acknowledging that there is a problem.

Ok running 1080p on HDMI before 3.3 update downloaded DAO:Awakening , and after playing past the initial start up to entering first area past the open gate game froze. I can still hear music and sounds of battle but system will accept no input from controler. I can eject the disc and re-insert it, and system reboots allowing me to play either DAO and DAO:Awakening until next random crash . Both now crash randomly.

Ive also had this problem. Game freezes totally randomly and i can't do anythin except turn off ps3 and restart. I got the update not long ago, I think it was 3.30 can't remember, most recent qne yea? Then the game kept freezin at random points in da game. Before i could do 8hours straigh which is da most ive played without a break. Now it freezes after a couple of hour. Most recent freeze was just now when I was startin a new char on awakening and it froze after first 5 mins. This has been my fave game for months on end now. I heard on another site that bioware is makin an update patch for this which should be out soon! Hope its true and hope it works!!!!!!

so now that i forced the game to allow me to get my last two trophies on the game one being platinum i can finally take a break from the game until the patch is here i get a good 2 hours by saving regularly and when i say saving i barely take a step without a save so for those that are a little late to the party that might help you otherwise just wait for the patch

Saving the Game often seems to help a lot for me.

I save after just about every battle or if a lot of things happened in the game I'll save.

I played Saturday and Sunday and had maybe 4 freezes. Better then it happening every few minutes. And I try and move sort of slower and I make sure my party catches up to me. Seemed to help. I will save a lot anyways on these types of games.

But still it did freeze up on me a few times. Usually when there was a lot of action going on which sucked.
