Heavy Rain and Final Fantasy XIII freeze as well.

I can tell you what doesn't freeze so far: WWE Smackdown vs. Raw 2010, Little Big Planet, GTA VI and the GTA VI add-ons.

I think i will stop playin ps3 4 a while, it needs break. Don't know what else to now. Bored. I miss DAO, today will suck.

I thought I'd finish FFXIII since I couldn't play DAO and it kept freezing every 10 minutes or so.  However, my friend also has FFXIII, and had downloaded 3.30, and her game works just fine. The whole freezing mess is very random.

@sabariel different ps3?Don't know you guys but i have a ps3 fat 80 gb.Maybe some newest model run better than the older ones

I only played DA:O and Assassins Creed 2 after I had updated to 3.30, however no freezing...

Havent read all previous posts in this topic, maybe the problem is region(s)-specific? I am from the Europe, Netherlands.

not really,that's the problem with facebook.There are tons of similar group/company and it's hard to understand if you're on a fake,a fan board,or god know what.For exemple,i think that www.facebook.com/#!/PlayStation is just a fan group.But thanks anyway^.^

You would have to look for the official sites. Dragon Age is available in German and English. And the official Englishspoken Playstation page has over 1 million fans/members!

yeah,but even with over 1 million members is still a fan page,as said on the left side of the windows.And i don't think that writing there will solve anything.God,not even writing on the official playstation 3 italian forum would solve anything:| probably we shoud just send some mails at the customer service or something like that

They will ignore that as well. I think it is really strange that this problem is mainly discussed here, and a little on the Playstation 3 board. Other then that you don't find/read much about it, just like it is not really taken seriously! And as for FB, even the official pages are fanpages, that's the way FB has set it up!

yes i considered that but ive been running around the return to ostagar area with a full bag of loot from that area and its still not crashing.

For Bioware feedback:

- Dragon Age was installed pre-3.30 but not played by me.
- Other user played as recently as April 2010 and updated it.
- I played for the first time on Saturday May 1st 2010.
- Created character and started playing.
- Okay for at least 1hr30 then problems; froze after min or max 15 mins (maybe coincidence but now on 3rd save slot)
- PS3 would freeze, eject button would work and would reboot ps3
- Different things done when freezing, not pattern noted.
- Reminded me of Fallout freezes but in that if music was going could wait and it would carry on, but in this sometime music on or off, but waiting didn't help
- Have apx 120gb free on system
- Have played Heavy Rain (think this needed installing) and Borderlands without incident
- Have Fat 80gb PS3 with 320gb harddrive upgrade
- Bought UK/Jersey (Play.com)

Really hope you find a way to fix it cuz you got me hooked!

It should be said that freezes behaves in different way on different machines. On my cases I have freezes on average every 3-4 hours, therefore the game is still playable. I too have the problem other reported: long wait at startup to collect data from saves.



My PS3 is a slim 250Gb, acquired in Austria.

I don't know much about techy stuff but:

My ps3 is a slim and one of the newest ones i got from Game in da UK.

At first my DAO would go for a few hours without freezes. Then when i played awakenings it froze after first 5 mins. I don't have any probs with checking save data at beginning tho.



Could the 3.30 have been contaminated somehow without anyone noticing. No idea how it works but could that be a reason why its so random?

I've been having the same problem as well. It's NOT a system error. For everybody who thinks your PS3 is acting wonky, don't worry. Due to Firmware 3.30, Dragon Age Origins will freeze up. There should be a new system update coming soon....i hope. Cause I'm planning on getting Awakening this week.

Ive just been on this website ( google "3.30 update problems" and click the first link, i think. It is a forum on ps3 and there were loads of complaints about how 3.30 has crashed their consoles. There is even stuff on you tube apparantly. Check it out there is some interesting stuff there which u may want to read. From what i read we got off lightly with just a couple of games freezin some ps3s have stopped workin altogether!

I really hope that sony is making an update/patch to fix this, but if things like this keep happennig on updates how do we know they won't keep happening!

I also got the error after updating. Totally agree with previous posts that the comms from bioware on this are poor. I've put 30 hours into origins and won't be getting any dlc until this is fixed!



At least a notification on the main bioware site would be a start. Even if it's asking for additional info from gamers!

Would also like to add, I noticed as well that all of the Specialization books have disappeared from the vendors. Ranger/Shapeshifter from Bohan and Spirit Healer from the shop in Denerim. They are no longer in their respective inventories for purchase. I never bought them. Can anyone else confirm this? This did not occur until patch 3.30.

Well they won't put it on the main site. Why? Because it's a advertising for "DO NOT BUY!" and they would never do that. It's like in the launch of DOA when they hid the whole ps3 forum from visitors (only registered users could see the ps3 forum) because it was full of bug reports and your basic "i can't play!" Threads. They are protecting their sales. Too bad you get really really bad karma when the customer buys it and it doesn't work... of course this time it's not Biowares fault...still community management is lacking (again).

Blizzard entertainment have better customer service than this (and that's saying a lot), if there are any problems with ANY of their games, they're usually fixed within 24 hours via patch.
