What the HELL have Bioware been doing? This issue should of only taken a few days to fix.

I just read another thread about dexterity not applying damage to daggers and bows on PS3 I thought they fixed it with patch 1.01 didnt they?

Nope. Patch 1.01 fixed useless crap, such as

Fixed potential corruption of character statistics. (What?)
Fixed portrait appearance sliders when importing a character from the downloadable Character Creator. (WHAT?)
Fixed import for preset face settings from the downloadable Character Creator. (really?..)
Made Easy difficulty easier. (REALLLLLYY?)
Slightly increased attack, defense, and damage scores for all party members at Normal difficulty. (Console gamers are nubs huehuehuehue)
Fixed video issues when running on a very wide screen display, including ATI Eyefinity displays. (the single useful fix)

If it was their problem it should've, but they need sony's help to get the issue resolved. They say they're working with sony, but i bet you they're trying to convince sony there's a problem.

Just a heads up. I have had maybe three freezes before getting the most recent update today. I'm on PS3 and today I've had four freezes in just maybe two hours of play time. I disconnected my broadband cable and now it seems to be working ok...so far. I'll update if I freeze up again. Hopefully not. Trying to try out new job configurations.

Until Bioware gives us an update, this thread is pretty much going to remain offtopic.

Thanks for your patience with all of this.

Since this happened, we've pulled additional programmers from the main game teams to help on this and have been running several parallel investigations non-stop to find potential solutions from our end, as well as continuing to work with Sony for both dev support and other options.

Thanks to the great feedback on here and from those folks we've been in contact with directly, the team now thinks we've been able to find a code-side workaround from our end to patch DA to play nicer with firmware 3.3, which was one of our investigation threads.

At this time I still don't have a date estimate for a DA patch with this fix however, and unfortunately we do not believe there is a manual workaround for this (one of the other threads we're investigating).

We are currently testing this proposed code change as I write this, and if successful the next step will be for it to go into EA's publisher side certification testing. They are aware of the importance of this and will give this priority in the queue of titles/patches across EA. And once that clears, it will go into Sony cert testing.

Sorry, wish I had better news to offer already - but progress is being made and I'll continue to update as we know more.

Thats the greatest news you could've given us! Now we just need EA and Sony to get in gear and get this work around out to us ^^

I feebly remind someone from Bioware saying these exact words when there was discussion about the dexterity patches. That certification testing takes time...6months and still no dexterity fix. So is this "workaround" going to have a similar timeline?

As for my patience...i pre-ordered DOA and played it through roughly in a week and then started to whine about the bugs. Nothing happened and I ditched DOA for 6 months and now...this. This doesn't really go into my category of "value for your money".

Thanks for the info, Fernando. But since this has to move across so many hands (BW/EoR -> EA -> SCE), can we get at least an estimate date for it? Or will it be TBA?

It really feels like crap to have your birthday present shelved because it cannot run for more than 10 minutes.

EDIT: Yes, my language skills are crap. No date yet.
Also: Does that mean that it is actually a FW bug and not a game glitch?

Always negitive. the fact that they view this as an important issue is awesome. A dex bug doesn't make a game unplayable. Be happy this is really good news!.Means a patch will be here soon.
