I really hope to read on this blog "hey hey guys its fixed "
Just had a reply from ea
Hi,
Thank you for contacting Electronic Arts.
We apologize for the inconvenience caused to you.
This could also be an issue involving corrupt game save files. You will need to remove game related save data by following the below given steps.
1. Press the PS button on the controller to enter the PLAYSTATION 3 XBM (XrossMediaBar).
2. Select the Game tab.
3. Select the Save Data Utility and press the X button.
4. Delete the file related to the game.
Confirm that you have updated the Playstation 3 computer entertainment system with the most recent system software. You can check the version you have installed on your Playstation 3 by selecting:
- Settings.
- Then System Settings.
- Then System Information.
Confirm that you are not using any game modification devices. Unlicensed devices such as game modification devices can interfere with the proper function of the software. We do not recommend the use of any game modification devices or unlicensed products.
If you still have any doubts, feel free to reply back.
Thanks and regards,
Ricky

Start DA:O, load your game and then leave it (open menu with Start, then shut down controller to save battery) for some time (15-30 minutes)... after that, play as usual.
Hopefully this works for you as well, I a least have been able to enjoy playing again.

@ Everyone who hasn't flamed - Cheers to keeping level heads. Gives me some faith that logic isn't completely devoid on game forums.

I heard the patch will bring a new set of trophies:
Lucky: Completed an origin story without crashes
Fast Killer: Killed 100 darkspawn between 2 freezes
Interrupted: had a freeze during a romance with Morrigan
Lol I like.

The only bugs on the game are the frame rate, DLC wardens keep witch im deleting atm so i can see my vigilence sword. I hate how we get good news and People like Branji try to ruin the mood.
1.02
Daggers now apply 0.5 points of damage per additional point in dexterity and 0.5 points of damage per additional point in strength, as originally intended. This increases dagger damage for high-dexterity characters.
During combat, mana or stamina reserves now correctly regenerate more quickly when reserves are low. This allows players to occasionally use an talent or spell in the later stages of lengthy fights.
When exploring, mana and stamina now regenerate more quickly at higher character levels. This reduces downtime between fights.
The spells Force Field, Crushing Prison, Cone of Cold, and Blizzard now have shorter durations and/or longer cooldowns. This ensures that combatants can no longer stun-lock each other by repeatedly casting the same spell.
The cooldowns for several low-level sustained abilities are now shorter. This ensures that players are not penalized for accidentally deactivating them.
Certain battles were not scaling properly, resulting in excessively difficult fights. They now scale as intended.
Enemy corpses now drop health poultices and money more appropriately, resulting in less clutter in the player's inventory.
Gameplay
In rare cases, enemy corpses were selectable when they contained no loot. This no longer occurs.
Party members whose combat tactics were set to defensive behavior no longer stop attacking after using a spell or talent.
In rare cases, combat tactics conditions could fail to determine whether a character had enough mana or stamina to use an ability. This no longer occurs.
The Rally talent no longer repeats its audio effect if it is active during certain conversations.
The Rally talent no longer deactivates upon area transitions or conversations.
The Shimmering Shield spell now deactivates when the character is out of mana.
We don't have 1.02 implemented, right?

Many of the fixes affecting balance, gameplay, or plot scripting are already included in the Xbox 360 and PlayStation®3 versions of Dragon Age: Origins.
So maybe we have them, or maybe not?

We do not. Ps3 still has the bugs. 3 patches (1.01/1.02/1.03) have been released for PC/360, but only ps3 is still suck on 1.01

And you know this, how? Just because the PS3 version number is lower doesn't necessarily mean we are two patches behind the other platforms. The text I quoted clearly states that at least some of the fixes regaring balance, gameplay and plot scripting that were included in 1.02 on PC are already in place in the PS3 version.

1. Disable network connection on PS3
2. Load game and disable auto-save on game option screen
3. Turn off PS3 via sony onscreen menu
4. Turn on PS3 and let it run for 30 min before playing (temp consistency?)
5. Load game and go on a low level character first (mine was lvl 3), play for an hour or so.
6 Save progress and load your higher level character save file.
In addition to playing the initial 1 hour on low level character i played for another 4 hours on the higher content without any freezing during that timeframe. I manually saved after major battles just in case and always let the game finish saving before moving character. This is no guarantee it will work all the time, but i can stand a reboot every 4-6 hours vice every minute until patch comes out. Good Luck : )

I played DA: Origins with a level 18 Mage for approximately 2.5 hrs and......
.... no freezes.
I disabled the internet connection on my Ps3 before booting up the game. Played a little bit of Awakenings, and the longer session with Origins. The only issue I have encountered is an incredibly long loading time during the "Checking Saved Games" portion of the intro screen.
80 gig, fatty with 16g available. Firmware 3.30, DA: Origins, Awakenings, and all other DLC & Updates installed. Awakenings was purchased as a download from PSN, and I have experienced noticeable improvement in performance (less framerate jitters, less slow-down) since I purchased and downloaded Awakenings.

The PS3 version is still 1.01 so I think we still have the dex bug
I feel like I'm reiterating myself a litte, but:
1. The patch notes for 1.02a for PC states that many of the balance, gameplay and plot scripting fixes are already in place for the Xbox and PS3 versions.
2. The patch notes for 1.03 on PC and 1.01 on PS3 are almost identical.
This has lead me to assume that 1.01 on PS3 and 1.03 on PC are pretty much the same stage in the patching process - just different version numbers for the different platforms.

its just funny how alot of people are saying they want to sell their ps3's and get an xbox360....when the modern warfare 2 map pack came out for xbox360 about a month ago, the update was screwed up and noone could play games on their systems.....i sold my xbox 360 and all the games and bought a ps3......and here we are LOL
See, I own all three consoles, as I believe any true gamer should, why be prejudice? This whole issue is for the most part, because of Sony's Latest Firmware update. By now any PS3 owners are just happy it's such a small one this time around. The problem is that as in comparison with the 360's service, let alone the invincible albeit simple Wii, Sony seems to have a lacking in quality assurance. It's like they dont think to maybe run the new update on multiple ps3's for awhile before force feeding us a update we really don't need at the moment. I also don't expect them to play every single game to make sure they all work, but games as new and popular as DOA, I sure do. the 360 is number 1 in customer service, mostly due to they'll admit they messed up, apologize, and rectify. Sony seems to just want to deny.
Sony needs to start thinking Quality over Quantity, the little extra mile to make sure it all works well can mean a lot of difference.
