last night i was able to play for several hours with only 1 crash. i was taking everything very slow paced as much as possible and saving all the time lol. funny thing is the 1 crash i did have was when i decided to do a few things way to fast almost at the same time. (pick a locked chest which i failed, and then right away trying to talk to a merchant).

honestly i read this on a forum somewhere the other night and so far i have played for two nights in a row now with no crashes

Nope, after you have installed the 3.30 online or offline you have some freeze. This because you have the 3.30 on your ps3, and the 3.30 is a corrupted firm.

Did anyone else try to reinstall the DAO Awakening patch after the Sony firmware 3.3 patch? I did and I haven't had an issue yet. I have played the game straight two days now for about 4-5 hours each time.

i don't have awekening, but i've formatted the HDD and reinstalled the DAO but nothing, still freezing.

OK I stand corrected. Disabling the PS3 internet connection and the DAO auto save didn't stop the freezing. Must have been dumb luck. I hate to admit it but, if I suffer much more of this I am going to have to pull off and start another game until a fix is released. Sucks because I am obsessed.

Seems this ought to be made public so people don't buy DAO and then find out about the freezing.  I had to give my co-workers the heads up so they wouldn't end up hating the game. Better to wait because it really is awesome.

I find it hard to believe that DAO is the only game affected by this. Does anyone now of any other game affected?

I have not played since the firmware update and I am starting to go into withdrawls. so how long after the 360 and PC will we get the new DLC and the patch considering they'll probably come out at the same time.

I've created a facebook group for this issue. It's called PS3 3.30 fix. Lets see how many people are really interested in getting this fixed.

i heard there releasing some dlc where you can be bruce willis, you get to light cigarettes and kill darkspawn with your white vest and no shoes. The tower is now nakatomi plaza and the arch Demon has got Alan Rickmans face.

I would safe to say this affects 100% of the ps3 users... a bug that causes a game to be unplayable on a platform should be a very high priority...i hope these software engineers are pulling late nighters just like my company makes us when we have emergencies or deadlines...





way off key note: since everyone here is a roleplayer (DA is a rpg), anyone else excited to play the new ps3 ffxiv mmorpg?

about ffxiv possibly yes not sure devoted a lot of sweat and tears into FFXI.

FFXIII and Heavy Rain also freeze. There are other games that freeze, but I don't know which.

I popped in Dragon Age yesterday and played about half an hour before I turned it off (yeah, I turned it off, it didn't freeze!). I noticed that when the characters walk it isn't as smooth as it used to be. It seems like the game has a lot more lags then before. I'm getting Heavy Rain today, and now I'm reading it freezes too? Bummer...

I played FFXI for 6 years.  Finally got to a point where I really couldn't get anything done, there was too little solo content and things got to be too repititious.  I did love FFXI though and still do even though it's been 5 months since I've quit. 

I am very excited for FFXIV.  Seems there's going to be a lot of similarities and hopefully a lot of good changes too.  Trying to keep busy till they release it.  Release is supposed to be 2010, but I'm not too sure about that.

There is no guarantee that Heavy Rain will freeze since this whole mess is very unpredictable. I've got friends on both sides of this matter. Heavy Rain freezes constantly for some, but others haven't had problems at all.

Yea i did ffxi for about 2 months, i got frusterated how there were 'proper' combinations you were supposed to do like red mage/ whtmage and i hated at the time there was no solo content. i went to wow with a friend and played that till last december, now im ready to go back to ff since i hear they learned a lot from wow. i wonder though do you think they will limit you to make 1 char per account like ffxi, or will we be able to make more like in wow?



we are lucky that all of these ps3 issue sseem to be software based, im always having to help create new hardware designs for next gen revs to fix current hardware issues.

Unfortunately I've no particular settings, everything is set up as default. I'm not connected to the EA servers when I play. Now that I finished the game I'll put it on the side for a while, until there'll be patches available.

I don't know why ive to change my ps3 coz the prob is from the new firm. I hope for all of you that this new firm have bricked the ps3 .. You have problem only with DOA or with all game?

Dont send the console to anyone, the problem is from sony's firmware, only wait for an fix.

Negative on that. I've played Heavy Rain entirely through in two days, about 7 hours each day without a single freeze. Besides, at this point, we're not worried about other games. That'd be a Sony forum if you wanted to post that. This is Dragon Age. I want to be back in Ferelden!! Viva la patch.

I just played avatar and it froze after like aminute, literally. what the hell!!!!! Anyone else had this problem. The only other game i played is uncharted 2 and this has been fine. hope this gets fixed soon!

Oh my gosh! The other night i totally had dis nightmare where i was playin DAO and then it froze on a save. All my files were wiped. and if that wasn't bad enough i then got chased by a guy who wanted to steal my eyes! I was so glad when i woke up cause i still had all my DAO files, phew. Oh and my eyes. Yay!

Somehow i saw this coming.... oh well!

I hope this gets fixed soon, that was a pretty wierd dream. lol
