Stick up for them all you want but its pretty clear sony dont give a s**t, they would have just denied everything if bioware hadnt steped in. pathetic customer service.

Side note: Imported DAO character to Awakening (female noble who married Allistar). I was thinking Allistar wouldn't recognize my character. Figured it would be more generic but, I was pleasantly surprised. Plus the Game Gods have even blessed me a few hours of no freezeing.

Say what you want but this IS a joke! And you cant seriously blame people for switching platforms when a product theyve paid for dosnt work!!!! Im waiting for the fix myself, but im still ROYALY p****d off!!!! and the funny thing is, bioware are the only ones who deserve a pat on the back for even adressing this problem at all!

Yes, yes I can seriously blame them. Shelling out $250+ for a new system? Why? It's a waste of money. A fix is on the way. You basically spent 250+ because you couldn't be without Dragon Age for more than three weeks. That doesn't sound utterly ridiculous to you?

Although they'd probably say 'well, it was unforeseen, no way we could've known blah blah,' they still have to take responsibility when they make quick and haphazard changes to their OS and it royally screws everything up.
So come on Sony -- suck it up, take responsibility, and do the right thing by your customers.

BioWare are developing the whole new game or that?
I think it's more disinterestedness to help them, sold them and do not care ...
How is it possible that in three weeks have not done anything!!!!!
really disappointing, I had a better picture of them....
What bullyhonky is this? "Have not done anything"? They bloody well did something! They actually worked on the problem and have a fix. It is a long process and most likely you'll be waiting longer since this fix has to go through both EA and Sony. Have some patience! BioWare could have just as easily said "There is no problem!" and then where would you be? Most likely blowing your money on a whole new platform. What a waste.
Are you seriously trying to make out that the fact that this has took 3 weeks with no fix is acceptable?? LOL WTF
Considering that Bioware have been unable to replicate the bug on the dev-kits, we should be happy they have a fix underway at all. Software development is not a quick process, nor is quality assurance and bug-hunting.
People who scream and moan that there is no fix avaliable this very instant need a reality check, or at the very least a basic lesson in software development.

I don't think it's utterly ridiculous at all to shell out $250 for another game system. Maybe those that do it have the money and it's their prerogative to do as they please. In fact, I may do the same, I have lost all respect for Sony and the PS3!
It is ridiculous if the only reason you're doing it is because you can't go without Dragon Age for a day/three weeks/a month/a couple of years. If you have other, more rational reasons, then more power to you.

The problem definitively has nothing to do with the ps3 system itself! I have played a few other games since the firmware update, and they're all running just fine (Heavy Rain, White Knight Chronicles, WWE Smackdown vs. Raw, Assassins Creed 2 and a few more). We have to be patient, and just wait for the fix in order to enjoy Dragon Age again! Just hang in there!
I doubt the issue is from a misused PS3 (PS3 firmwares are always crappy--this is the last time I update on release). This problem is way too widespread. After looking up the update, I found a couple of sites that have people having the same issues, but some are going into other games like Fallout 3, God of War 3, and so forth... I suggest that people refrain from using their PS3 w/ DA until this issue is fixed. I read some people's issues on other forums actually gave them the yellow light of death (had that happen to me twice, and it sucks).

If the game was free, then patience would be fitting. But I don't ****ing pay for game right away to wait for weeks to play it! And I don't care about any details. They sold a product. It's broken for 1,2,3 weeks. I don't really care what they do, I care about the fact that it's broken.SurrealSadi wrote...
For the love of God... BioWare has found a coding workaround! It takes time for such fixes to get through the PARENT COMPANY and the SYSTEM COMPANY. Either learn some F*CKING PATIENCE or SHUT UP!

This is not completely true.
If depends on the "urgency" of the bug. If a bug in a bank transaction were accouting you more or less money that it should they'd fix it NOW. Instant.
This is not the case of DA of course, and some wait time could be expected but I would have appreciated:
- removal of the game from stores until fix
- no DLC or expansions sold until fix
- clear statement on Sony, EA and Bioware sites
- refund (the game IS actually broken)

Turns out the game is good and it is freeze free So I agree with the suggestions to move on until the fix is released.
I feel the new user's frustration but we can all take heart. Bioware has taken us seriously we have not been abandoned.
