Is not the first time in this thread that somebody posts a link to a web page which reports news taken from this thread.

I think it's great that BioWare has responded and has a patch in work.

I think it's abysmal that they don't tell their own customer support people/network that there is a problem and to advise their customers when they call/email/chat with tech support about it. They had me going around and around on this; even yesterday's addition to my case focused on cleaning the disk and troubleshooting the console; even told me to find another console to install and check the game out on, as if that would help.

And Sony has been no help either.

If a company sets up a customer support service, then it should indeed provide customer support and their development group should have a contact to keep informed as to what's happening.

Customer Support is a joke (at least in the big business sense). Most of the time they outsource their call centers so if a question is outside their scripted handbook you end up having more progress talking to a piece of cheese.

I heard of a patch coming, so came to the boards to see if this would breathe life into my relation with Bioware. Seems this is nothing more than the same bull****. WHY CAN'T YOU MAKE A PATCH THAT FIXES ISSUES FROM RELEASE DATE. I don't care about more more trophies...

The upcoming patch addresses:

- The high rate of crashing on firmware 3.3.

- The issue where redeeming codes was no longer showing the free download items.

- Adds the trophies for the upcoming Darkspawn Chronicles DLC

So as I said in another post...  We will only get patches when there is new DLC that needs trophy support added.  To make it not look like that, they'll add one or two simple things that fixes nothing of the core problems.  For example, would it have been THAT hard to add the proper texture names for the new sword/armor into this patch?  You've had a couple months... jeez I'm done.

I totally agree that EA support is abysmal (just like every other major software publisher's support). Sometimes when you call this kind of support service, YOU know a lot more than the person on the other end. Unfortunately, this is not likely to change. Everyone outsources their first line of "defense" because of cost issues. If they didn't, the games/programs would most likely be a lot more expensive OR you would have to pay for support.

Regarding Sony, I really don't think one could expect much of a response from them in this particular situation. Consider this: Microsoft releases a new Service Pack for Windows. This just so happens to break software publisher X's best-selling program. Who do you turn to? Microsoft? No. They would simply say "We don't give support on third party software. Talk to X.". They might even charge you for one support incident.

Yes, I know there have been reports here and there about people having problems since 3.30 with other games, but compared to the DA problems, these are just very isolated cases. In fact, they seem to be so few that it could just be coincidental. DA is (AFAIK) the only game where the problems have actually been confirmed and experienced by a BROAD majority of users.

Moar trophies is far more important than fixing things such as dex bugs and save corruption, silly.

just for thought im curious if anyone else considered that the fix may come the day before darkspawn chronicles is released???

I've been writing this ever since they mentioned the new DLC! The last patch was released a week prior to Return to Ostagar.

so then if history repeats itself it should be by the end of the week. my only concern is with return to ostagar we who own ps3 had to wait after the original release date for the new DLC. 360 and PC once again gets their hands on it first. which is coincidentally looking like this is going to be the case again. So now I am wondering if its going to be the end of this week or the week before they finally decide to put out the DLC for PS3

This is an odd quirk that may or may not be related to our firmware issue. Probably more like buggy software.  Either I found it amusing and thought it worth passing onto the group.

In Awakening specifically:
In Ameranthine, toward the end of the game, two Walking Dead characters feeze with full health. The rest of the characters move along hacking away at the skeletons, no movement, no health drop - goes on and on. Funny to watch. Unfortunately, I had to quit and re-load the game twice beforeo get

Another comical glitch was my once while preparing to join the Grey Wardens, my characters arms were stuck in a kind of outstretched position. Too funny. This only happened once so far. Again had to exit and restart the game to set things right. Can't have a hero walking around like that...

You're right! RTO was released 29 January, but PS3 owners had to wait till 11 March!! Hopefully we won't have to wait for the patch that long this time!! I'd rather have the fix right now then the new DLC to be honest!

Of course the patch will be right before new DLC. Did we see any movement on fixing the "free" DLC issue before it became potential loss of profit? No, especially since the unofficial fix was to buy other DLC that probably wasn't flying out the door.

Management sees DLC as profit, whereas a patch is just added expense. If you can't sell the DLC, which they already paid development costs for, to 1/3 of your potential customers then you can justify the added expense of developer time spent on a patch.

Bioware/EA/Sony are not in business to make you or me happy, they're here to sell a product - anyone that tells you different is blowing smoke...

You can just see it coming from miles ahead... Next week everyone is back to playing, except for EU countries. The store in the Netherlands is utter crap for one.

Sony still tells me its a hardware issue, bioware still tells us to clean our disk. Come on this B.S. if they actually have a possible fix why doesn't any of their tech support know about it?

Question: Why are you still ringing up Sony and Bioware when Bioware have clearly stated that they come up with a fix that is going through testing with Sony and is set to be released hopefully by the end of the week? Pointless.

Answer: I got on hear yesterday for the first time, I'm not much of a computer person. So when I found this forum I was upset that it had been floating around for almost 3 weeks yet none of the techs know anything about it.

I don't suspect it is because I've not installed the FW update and I got this the other night (undead takes no damage) and I've also had Alistair with his hands outstretched. Just another glitch no doubt...
I sincerely hope that they release the patch within a week regardless of the new DLC. While it is irksome that it is again not released at the same time as PC/Xbox it also makes me nervous that they may not have a proposed release date. The wait for RtO was just ridiculously awful.

I was going to ask the same thing, but you beat me to it! Some ppl are just sooo impatient, and act like nothing is happening.

I called before I ever even knew about this site I only got on a computer to see if i could find a fix with out having to buy another ps3 as I don't have the funds to buy one. My B**** is the lack of costumer service. If your all satisfied with it good for you, but I'm not I've dropped over $100 on this game alone and if their was a problem with some update then they could tell us that instead of trying to get us to buy or fix our ps3's or to get a new copy of the game, etc. almost 3 weeks after this problem was reported. The last time I called was on monday, I Found this place on tuesday. I think some of you forget not everyone has a computer(like myself) we don't or can't run to these sites to find answers we call costumer service which is what their for I thought. But your right pointless.

I think we should, too.
But of course we probably won't--Bioware will just expect us to be content with a game that doesn't freeze every half hour, even though it should have been glitch free since the day it came out.
It's like, "Here's this awesome but ****tily coded product for 50 dollars... if you get too annoyed with it we'll fix it, but not before then."

It's probably because they simply don't read the thread before posting, I'm afraid, so we will be seeing more of these type of posts.

I read a lot of it,(by the way 88 pages is a lot) and if you go back and check(you don't have to go back very far) I've said nothing about the crashing or them not working on it. I started by agreeing with someone else about the sh*ty tech support. then all the high and mighty came out to remind us of what a good job their doing. If your happy with the way in which their handeling it, right on.That doesn't mean everyone has to, and if people want to vent on here why do you care?

think i will share some glitches since others did :) Like cut scenes with npcs you just decapitated running with the char headless lol. I had a couple freezes b4 3.30 after installing awakening but before that i had no major issues with origins just some minor glitches like decapitated ppl in cs. They should release dev kits for ps3 i don't personally believe all the fixes on pc are from bioware alone, open source for others to fix just like linux lol
