Customer Support is a joke (at least in the big business sense). Most of the time they outsource their call centers so if a question is outside their scripted handbook you end up having more progress talking to a piece of cheese.

LOL!  Oh that is so true!  Love the bit about the cheese.

If they're anything like Tier 1 customer support at my company, Bioware could have told the support managers repeatedly about the fix, but either the managers didnt put the fix into their system for the analysts to find, or the analysts answering the phones just can't figure out the right keywords to be told about the fix.

I know with the apps I've written for my company I've explained many times to the helpdesk how to solve a particular issue that's related to the users' computer setup, but next time it comes up, bang they still end up calling me, clueless.

I think the patch will be out by Friday. If so, two more days to go...

If not, then hey I have been wrong before.

Bioware should just show whoever works for Sony this forum so they can see all the pissed customers themselves, lol.

after hearing about the problems people have been having after the 3.30 update, i popped in my copy of DA:O last night and played for quite a while. i did not experience any issues that i hadn't already experienced playing the game pre-FW 3.30.

maybe i'm lucky...

That wouldn't do any good. My friend linked to this forum when he complained to Sony and their response was that not enough people were experiencing the problem.

Is not the first time in this thread that somebody posts a link to a web page which reports news taken from this thread.

I think it would be benificial to have the most recent post/reply from Mod/Dev's placed in a window at the top of every thread... and visible regardless of what page in the thread you are on.

Maybe even a filter option that will bring up ONLY posts from mods/devs from a thread (although this would be much more challenging I assume.)

That way people don't have to dig back through to see word straight from the horses mouth.

Dreadpirate......that already exists.

When you are surfing the threads on the board and a Bioware person has posted in the thread, click on the blue "BIOWARE" symbol below the forum topic and you'll only see the original post and Bioware's responses.

I have had the game, finally started playing it yesterday and was wondering why it kept freezing so freaking often. Guess I'll just put it away until they fix it.

I totally agree that EA support is abysmal (just like every other major software publisher's support). Sometimes when you call this kind of support service, YOU know a lot more than the person on the other end. Unfortunately, this is not likely to change. Everyone outsources their first line of "defense" because of cost issues. If they didn't, the games/programs would most likely be a lot more expensive OR you would have to pay for support.

Regarding Sony, I really don't think one could expect much of a response from them in this particular situation. Consider this: Microsoft releases a new Service Pack for Windows. This just so happens to break software publisher X's best-selling program. Who do you turn to? Microsoft? No. They would simply say "We don't give support on third party software. Talk to X.". They might even charge you for one support incident.

Yes, I know there have been reports here and there about people having problems since 3.30 with other games, but compared to the DA problems, these are just very isolated cases. In fact, they seem to be so few that it could just be coincidental. DA is (AFAIK) the only game where the problems have actually been confirmed and experienced by a BROAD majority of users.

About customer support... You see, according to law in many countries if they officially acknowledge that game was unplayable for 3 (4?) weeks ALL customers may take the matter to court and demand a refund AND a compensation. So they post on forums, but here they can always erase any posts. You can't use forum as an evidence.

Maybe I should have a little go with DA:O... just until the first freeze. :)

Hopefully Sony will get the patch out soon.
