Exactly. People prefer to think that games are made with a wave of a wand or a hand. And that problems are fixed the same way. If that was the case, games would be free >.>Dreadpirate77 wrote...

And you people complaining, Bioware has worked as hard and as fast as they can to make a patch to fix this issue.
I don't think those people have any idea what an arduos task programming can be. Particularly PATCHING a bug that was created when the machine was altered by an outside source. BIOWARE didn't release DAO with this freeze bug... it was caused by a conflict with 3.3 from Sony.
And I would stay and argue with people, but I don't feel like making my headache worse.

Now I need to go back to watching more DA:O LPs, and typing out more character bios to keep me from shutting down till then.
Or simply go play some 3D dot game hero

And I prefer a quality product and no patches at all.
What fantasy land is this? Tons of games have patches, and those without patches STILL Have bugs, just no fixes.
So here you are, whining over geting a fix to a bug, and pretending you live in this fantasy land where other games have no bugs. Go back there

I can give you this much update, but I will also make an announcement as soon as we get some final key information.
The patch Fernando discussed has passed Sony certification both in North America and the EU and we're currently working with them on a deployment date. We're going to miss the window to get this released this week, but we are going to try and get released next week ASAP.
Again, I'll make an official announcement once dates are set. The firmware ordeal is almost over
Awesome! Sux that Sony's rules are so strict, but it is what it is. Sony is an old giant, they wont change for anyone, they will just continue to slowly die in terms of being relevant to videogames.

Yeah you guys are totally right. Bioware could have just swept this whole thing under the rug and wait for the next firmware to see if the problem disappeared but they didn't. They've probably had a small team of people working their asses off to get this fixed. They can't get the whole of Bioware working on it. Thats just silly. I was gunna take time. You people should just be grateful that theres a fix coming at all.

While its nice to know that its passed Sony's QA, am i the only one wondering why the hold up now?
I mean how can you "miss a window" to release a patch? lol. Um just upload it into the system and it gets out to everyone. I mean we not launching a space shuttle into the air.

You can call them. You can post on their forums. You can mail them. And all they will say... oh it's your PS3 that's at fault, give it to us and we'll fix it for 150 bucks.
**** Sony. I hope the lawsuits against them screw them so hard...
And now i must take a chillpill.

Thanks for info Bio-team.

No, it's not, but I'd rather a game be broken for a month than for Bioware to release a patch that breaks even more things in the game. I prefer Quality in patches, not "Let's just kludge something together to fix it, and be damned to any bugs it causes".reece4591 wrote...

As for why it can't be released this week, Victor stated that they basically missed the window to release it this week. Be patient. It's only a few more days till next Monday, which is when we should have a release date.
As they say, PATIENCE IS A VIRTUE!
So you're saying its acceptable to take almost a month to fix this issue? I don't know about you but when I paid good money for this game i never expected it to be broken for 4 weeks.
I underdstand what you you're saying but Bioware have confirmed that they have come up with a fix which has now been tested by Bioware, EA and Sony and its working fine but they are telling us that the patch will be released next week, we say just release it ASAP like NOW would be great.

Haexpane you are unreal, what is wrong with you? I guess I was right about you when I sent you that message about a week ago, but your mind is so warped and full of unecessary anger that you probably don't remember that. Grow up and stop lashing out at people.

It's kind of silly to blame Sony when it doesn't take other companies a month to fix their games, heck zipper interactive did a MAG fix in a few hours. It's just Bioware being completely incompetent with their multiplatform support, as usually.Haexpane wrote...

pff. easy! just implement a "company policy" at Sony that says "IF a product is approved on a Thursday, then it will appear in the PSN on a Monday" (or whatever day, not sure if it's monday or not). Works just like any other IT group in Big Business. Publishing to PSN is probably not the "fill out this web form and upload the file, and it will automagically distribute" world that you think it is.

This wasn't even BioWare's problem. Why would you expect them to know how to fix something that is not their problem in a matter of hours?

any word on whether you guys are going to bother fixing the frame rate problem (not the 3.30 freezing... which i am not experiencing, btw)? it's really the only thing that's keeping me from spending more money on DA...

Haexpane, I don't feel Bioware announced they suck. I think it's shappy to post this after learning that Bioware will be releasing the fix next week. Being told you suck isn't particularly motivating. The freezing isn't fun. But it is about to get better.Lord Gremlin wrote...

not entirely true. it is possible that the 3.30 FW update revealed an inherent flaw in the game code that they never bothered to clean up and/or fix. considering the buggy mess DA:O already is, it's not too far of a stretch.
