I know I'm not the only person to be annoyed by the lighting in the character creator, both the external thingy and the one in the game. Is there a mod anywhere that improves the lighting a little bit so you can see what color eyes you have?

I've looked at Dragon Nexus and here and haven't seen anything, please don't hit me if I overlooked something. I know I'm not the only person to be annoyed by the lighting in the character creator, both the external thingy and the one in the game. Well the toolset's morph editor doesn't have this problem... you may want to giv it a try, it's just much more powerful anyway.
