Wouldn't it just kick everyone in the balls if it was really a Batarian? I would laugh so hard.

Or a vorcha?  Probably don't live long enough, but still.

Not just one particular Vorcha, but ALL vorcha, sort of like a Dread Pirate Roberts dealy.:unsure: (the site REALLY needs a good " paranoid " emote)
Since the vorcha are largely  ignored and  thought of as nothing more that talking animals by other species, they are in an ideal situation to gather information.

Think aboot it.

I doubt someone of the Shadow Broker stature has the time of the day to run about and play such "Aha! I'm right in your midst all along" games. Doesn't he have more important business to attend to? It's like the black friend with whom you play weekly basketball reveals himself to be President Obama.

Wait, I thought he was Sovereign?

All hail The Sovereign! When Liara finally has her showdown with him he needs Iggy Pop and Klaus Nomi for backup ;)

I had a theory that the Shadow Broker is actually long dead, but lives on through an elaborate VI/AI netowork.

This... would be epic. Ignore the supercomputer behind the curtain, it's merely one of my many many data processing units, completely worthless to destroy. There are infinite backups. Wait! Don't pull out that cooorrrrrrrrrrrrrrrdddddddddddddddd....

Well, hopefully whoever he is he won't pull a John Galt and go on a rambling philosophical speech that lasts for like 3 entire chapters.

I think shadow broker is an A.I . I don't think it's the reapers tough, since the comic wouldn't make any sense then. Shadow broker was trying to sell Shepard to collectors who work for the reapers, if shadow broker was reapers themselves why not just transport him directly?

That would be a cool twist tough if he turned out to be Feron.

If it is an A.I. I don't think I'll get another DLC like this, because the whole "rogue A.I." thing is boring.

I actually wouldn't mind that Posted Image

If there's anything I don't the Shadow Broker to be, it's an AI or VI, because that would mirror a certain game that came out a few years ago, to keep spoilers to a minimum. Unless it's a certain "VI" from the Citadel we all know and love, pulling a Morgan Le Fay.

The Hidden Liara Audio Files (POSSIBLE SPOILERS) seem to imply it's someone Liara knows, as indicated by her "Hello again, Shadow Broker." There's something about the tone at which she says it. Then there's the unused Galactic News pieces Didymos dound a few days ago, one of which talks about Barla Von having died recently, while the Shadow Broker appears to have died... I'm certain this will trigger after the new DLC mission, but I don't think Barla Von is the Shadow Broker, as Liara doesn't necessairly know him.

On a totally unrelated note, in memory of The Usual Suspects I started wondering if there were any cripples in Mass Effect: Conrad Verner may be, depending on your choices. Hmm, talk about random.

Well I'd mind it. I didn't need 3 chapters retelling me the things she'd spent an entire four-inch-thick book telling me. I get it, Ayn. What happened to show-don't-tell?

We don't really know if Liara knows Barla Von or not. She might. I mean, I took her with me when I went to talk to him once. Or she might know him totally independently from all that. She might have conducted associations with him after she'd become an information broker - he's a bit of a broker himself.

Cripples? I assume you don't mean as in Joker or (in my case, hehe) Harkin.

*Spoiler Alert*

Shadow Broker:"Cmdr. Shepard never told you who your father was."

Liara:"He told me enough! He told me you killed him!"

Shadow Broker:"No Liara, I am your father!"

...

Shepard:"I should go."

True enough.

And you might be right on the second account as well, although she does not canonically meet him in the first game. I wouldn't be surprised if he was the one that pointed her towards Omega, though.

Don't know how I could forget Joker, that's just sheer dumbness on my part. Harkin is a cripple in my game as well, guess he'll be the one to get the nickname of "Verbal Kint", seems only fitting given his identity and status in the second game.

Any which way, I really hope they don't screw up the reveal. I was totally hoping for the Shadow Broker to be a big thing in ME3 that finally changes Liara's mind about helping you out and joining your squad. But I guess it's not to be.

So this DLC better blow my pants to the freaking moon. And the Shadow Broker better have an awesome reveal.
