I'm doing the quest "The golem in Honnleath" and i have killed
everything that needs killed and I'm certain i have explored
everywhere, but i can't find out how to free these villagers that are
trapped in the cellar. They are behind a purple barrier. any help?

talk to one of the guys he will lower the barrier

It's not letting me talk to them. They are just standing behind the barrier.

You know that big glowing barrier in front of them? Try talking to it.

Well, i finally decided to load up another save of mine before i got into the village and i did it all over again. This time it worked.

I tried the same thing on my save that wasn't working and it still didn't work. I guess it was bugged up a bit.

You need to read something (book or scroll, I forget what exactly) that's on a stand on that riser area right next to the barrier.

ok im on the part where im in the celler with the "cat" and Amalia. I dont want to kill the girl or let the deamon possess her. I chose lie... "I'll release you. " i plan to try to kill the cat .. but i cant figure out the puzzle floor containment field thing. Any help with that?

Just click on the barrier. I got confused at first. But when you click on the barrier it initiates the conversation.

It's a classic puzzle, you need to move the tiles around until you get a path to the opposite end of the square, with the arrows on the tiles pointing the right way.
After you complete that puzzle, you can let the demon possess the girl or fight her.
