Well, he isn't all that bad as a character, but whoever wrote his romancing lines deserves a kick in the quads. Those are prolly the single most cheezyest lines of a character spoken in a video game ever. Heavy risk, but the priiiiiiiize, lol. Get's me every time.

Other than that, he's just your typical solider type with paragon intentions. And he's not really usefull in battle (constantly charging that barrier, grrrrrr). Couple that with his award winning love scenes and you have a cheezy/boring/unpopular character in an otherwise excellent game.

I liked him as a character thought as a female Shepard player I can say with out a doubt the romance was just awful.

It was cringe worthy to watch the romance......

It´s just his overall attitude. In addition, I don´t like his voice, and the aliens are more interesting.

Not everyone hates Jacob. I for one like him. But it wouldnt bother me if he didnt show up in ME3.

He's like one of those people in RL that everyone knows, and everyone likes, but no one is really friends with them.



And I disagree about Miranda. Shes crap.

Ugh, Jacob. Where to start. Lets start with his powers and weapons. He has pull! Yay, but Samara has that and she has a AR. He has fire ammo! Yay, but Grunt has that and is a tank. He has biotic barrier! Yay, but Grunt and Legion have a armor bonus power and they are better.



He has shotgun! Yay, but Jack, Tali and Grunt also too and they have ettrr powers.



In short, he sucks in combat. Not to mention he is boring as hell, Bioware tried too hard to make him a buddy character (which is sad because I found Mordin and Thane a better buddy character) his romance is the worse Bioware has ever done, he says he won't second gues you, but he does anyways.



In short, Jacob was a waste and it's shame Bioware did nothing with him, he was so much better in Galaxy.

I haven't read Galaxy but I agree that he was a lot of wasted potential. Jacob could have been a lot like the best-friend turned lover, which would have been awesome for Shepards that got spurned by their ME LI. But Shep comes on too strong and you could even make it work by making a character who would come across that way, but the dialogue is just....very very very bad. Ugh.

I don't mind him, either. As far as romances go, I think it was written that way to give us more options of the type we want.. be it funny(Garrus), romantic(Thane), or cocky(Jacob)

Jacob was a grave friend in the game (Other than Garrus!). I know you guys are mature enough not to hate him for his skin color, but probably because he isn't the most "special" or "exciting" character.

Miranda, she is just hot and has a interesting past

Jack, well her past is like a textbook!

Garrus, a humorous old friend

Samara, hot and is badass

Jacob, meh.

I can see he isn't the most exciting character but he is pretty funny at some points. I am very sad to see no "Jacob for ME3" signatures!

I'm just the opposite. I like him more as character, but I don't really use him in combat. same goes for Jack.

He's pretty much a ME1 style Vanguard kinda like Jack. Attacking a mech in melee with a shotgun is a heavy risk... but the priiiiize!!!
