On my seven playthroughs I've tried Jack, Garrus, Thane and Tali (four times). I've watched Miranda and Jacob from youtube, but never went for them 'cause they didn't seem interesting as characters the begin with. Not hard to guess which I preferred. It shows that the developers knew Tali was going to be the most popular choise. Her romance is longer than most and paving it begins already on her loyalty mission. Though my opinion is hardly objective, I'm just too much into shy, clumsy girls like her.

Well I was really gonna stay loyal to Liara, but... When I met her on Ilium, I was kinda surprised there was no dialog option of standing there for a moment with your mouth opened, then going: "WHO ARE YOU AND WHAT DID YOU DO TO MY LIARA?!?"
So yeah, Tali all the way. I was disappointed in her not being "romanceable" in the first ME already.

While I don't like some of the characters and wouldn't romance them, it's nice to be able to choose between more than one or two. Makes the replayability of the game go up.

You're going to hate me for this, but Miranda all the way. Hands down. I don't see how any of you can say she isn't an interesting character, especially compared to people like Tali. Even on my first play-through of ME1, and ME2, I skipped through all of her conversations......
.......Please lord, is it over yet?

I really wanted to stay loyal to Ashley. I really, really did. I thought it'd be kinda sweet to have a relationship that can withstand even considering all the crap that happens to Shepard.
Tali had other plans for me.
^ This. I had planned on staying loyal to Ashley with my Male Paragon Shepard as I wanted that to carry over. True I had a personal reaction to the Horizon scene, but because of that, and other wierd signs I kept having in the game, I went with Tali, and felt like thats how this particular story was meant to go, kinda like I was drawn to make that decision. I think how I did things makes for a really compelling story
This does not mean, however, that I've forsaken Ash, though. In fact, I'm writing a fanfic not only for entertainment purposes, but I think its a good excersize to help me make a decision between the two, because as far as I'm concerned, they're both the best LIs and I can never romance anyone else for malesheps. I'm seriously torn about this decision, and will be the hardest decision I ever make in Mass Effect 3.

people should really cut ash a break. It sucks she sorta dumps you at horizon, and maybe that put a sour note on the relationship, but i think its completely understandable. Imagine some one who you served with in the military and trust with your life diappears off the radar, only to show up and working for al-qaeda, and try to convince you that its all for the good of the American people. Even if relationship at point is not desirable, still gota respect Ash for sticking with her principle.
