Use an SMG/AR (or warp, if you have it) on the barrier, heavy pistol/Sniper (also Incinerate or Warp) on the armor.

Run in lots of circles and keep your squad by your side It is only likely to kill you if you keep a distance, but it WILL kill you if you let it get close.

As far as i'm consider, using heavy weapons against a Praetorian is lame. Unless you're trying to get through it as fast as possible, man/woman up and fight it with guns.

I'm on the collector ship @ the part you chose your loadout.  Which
heavy weapon should I use?  Any advice for
dealing with that praetorian?

Tthe Collector Particle beam is the best. If you can, get the Arc Projector (which I find to be the most effective weapon). Make sure Miranda and Jack use Warp if they have it. It is especially effective.

For me the Horizon Praetorian was a nightmare but the Collector ship one was a piece of cake. All on insanity. Not sure why lol.

I was playing infiltrator as well. My theory is on Horizon there is too much room to move around so unless you play hide and seek with it you die quickly. I had to let my squad kill it while circling around a truck.

I think the auto-homing in only works on the console version of ME2.

I moved around the map and rocked it with the Claymore. Evidently, you must be in close quarters but if you shift to cover and pick your spots. It will drop fairly quickly. Of course a well placed Cain shot is always a gem.

When I played through as an Engineer, I pretty much ran around cover to cover and spammed Overload and Incinerate. Sums up Engineer class.

Probably because of all the open space and advantage it has on Horizon due to how high it is. I basically make sure that I'm well-guarded by cover.

Wear down barrier with a submachine gun, use particle beam on armor, as well as warp, incinerate, reave, etc. Goes down quickly.

Also, Tali and/or Legion are useful against Praetorians since the things will actually focus on combat drones for crucial seconds.

Locust SMG + Inferno ammo is no slouch man... that stuff is DEADLY
