I have tried a few minor changes to make it happen. My Dragon Age SEGFAULTs err... Errors ... what ever Winderz calls it.
Has anyone attempted Dwarf Mage?

If I pull it off should I limit it to dwarf?

What you going to try rune master? Are mages only elf classes? If not I would say just let dwarves and elves have it.

Mage can be Human and Elf.
Dwarf folk are not allowed to be Mages.
But I might have stumbled on a way to add the Creation Tree to a character.
Creation is Heal and all those goodies.

I thought there was a way to make new classes...
Here, thought I saw something about it. Someone elsewhere looks to have made a dragon shifter.

In the lore of the game, if it matters to you, Dwarves do not have the ability to use magic. I'm sure it could be modded so that you can. =) Be an interesting module to have a Dwarf Mage and the "world" respond to that.

Messing around with backgrounds.xls (in the Source/2DAs/rules folder) might make it possible.

And yet, most every game out there has dwarf priests that heal with magic.. Divine magic - arcane magic... its still magic.
But I agree, if a mod could make the DA world respond to the dwarves as mages that would be cool.

I am not just trying to add an ability. I wanted to extend the character with magical foofoo stuffs. Maybe if I just simply add it like everyone else dose....

Just a thought, but if you give a dwarves the ability to cast magic, shouldn't you also take away their magic resistance? Even to the point of making them 10% MORE susceptable to magic? You could explain it as a genetic mutation, some gene got reversed and instead of granting resistance it granted a talent, heh? Also, to all of you intending to create new classes, remember that magic users use mana and other classes use stamina and ne'er the twain shall meet. In other words a fighter/mage would have to draw strictly on mana to power fighting abilities as well as spells, or draw on stamina to power their spells and abilities, depending on how you implement the class.

Dwarves have some lineages that can use magic, not many though.

Its a fantasy game, everything in it has been done already by someone else, at some point, in some fashion. If you dont want dwarf mages dont use the mod.
This isnt an mmo, other players and I using a dwarf mage mod isnt going to affect your game in the slightest.
