Just did it to me again...finished all the non-fighting quests in Redcliffe Village (so hadn't saved for a while) and was running up the hill to start the event when...frozen. Usually my only option is to force quit Dragon Age, but I'm going to let it sit there this time while I type in the hope that it will magically unfreeze itself.
What I REALLY want to do is just download the PC version and play inside Boot Camp, but apparently I only bought the Mac version from Gametree.
So, um, anybody know what the game hangs all the time on the Mac? Happens at least once an hour for me.
15" Core Duo PowerBook with 2 gigs RAM. OS 10.6.latest
wtf is up with the Mac version hanging all the time?

May I direct you to question 1 of my FAQ http://social.biowar...9/index/1657591
you should be able to get the windows version with a mac key
As far as the hanging? I really don't know, my specs are higher than yours, but mostly in the RAM area... otherwise I've never really had graphics problems, only the occasional load screen of eternity where I have to force quit. Hanging is not usually a good thing though. I've heard things about SMC fan control or something... dig through some of the posts in here talking about graphics issues (especially older ones).

Hanging might be from your graphics card overheating. It happened to me frequently right after I bought it. Same game from the same place.
I installed SMC Fan Control and very rarely does my DA:O freeze anymore.

And I have 4G RAM. I think the game's minimum specs call for 2GBs. Might be that too.

Controlling the fan speed solved this for me too (again, I have 4GB RAM). I used iStat Menus rather than SMC Fan Controller, though.
