Recently completed the questline, backed Harrowmont got his oath to take my character's son into his house, spoke to Mandy who was thrilled that "our" son would be a noble and then asked me to name him (I named him Gorim after the one dwarft who was always loyal). Then I checked my quest log, which listed the quest as "failed" and noted that my son would never have the life he could have had.
Um ... what?
What did I do wrong?
Of Noble Birth bug?

I've got the same bug here, PS3 version. My dwarf noble main character has mentioned the child to Harrowmont at every instance, and at the end after killing Bhelan, he was happy to accept my child and mother into his house. Talked to Mardy and she was happy and even mentioned that I can name him and she was "finally going to have a proper bath".
Yet I still get the quest completed as 'failed' and my son can never have the life he deserved. WHAT GIVES!?!?!

Because Harrowmont is a bloody pansy, and get's outed in the ending for being useless, so his song never got the chance to take over, he isn't part of royalty. Aueducan however is royalty, powerful and would give the son his rightful dues.
Not to mention Harrowmont only adopts the kid, nothing was ever said about the mother.

Not true, i chose Bhelen as my dwarf noble so the throne would stay with the Aeducans...
and i mentioned my son to him and used my persuade success to have him "give her a room in the smallest palace and give them the aeducan name." Mardy was overjoyed, while my questlog states that my son will never have the life he should have.

Hello i am a human noble and when i put king Behlen on the throne in my completed quests is says like that: Of Noble Birth quest is failed.
BUT I AM A HUMAN NOBLE.NOT A DWARF.I can't use the toolset to delete that quest from my list?

This bug is still not fixed and I'm kinda bummed out that my dwarf noble's son doesn't get adopted even though Mardy is overjoyed and I'm playing 'compassionate dwarf' so failing the quest doesn't seem to link with me giving them 50 sovereigns

I had the same issue but read somewhere that its not a bug but as soon as you speak to Harrowmont or or Bhelen you need to then go straight back to Mardy and tell her, if you do any quests in between the quest comes up as failed. This worked for me.
