I was just wondering is the toolset BioWare provies going to be easy enough that someone like me with no experiance with anything like that be able to do use it at all?
Quick question.

They have specifically stated that it is very difficult for beginners to pick up, due to the complexity, but worth the effort in the end.

While there is a great learning curve depending on what it is you wish to due, I would say that Bioware has taken in consideration those that have little or no experience as such. They have indeed had a closed beta for months, in which they have asked people of all skill levels to enter.

Making a simple module of your own is not that difficult - most people can do it.
As with earlier toolsets, going beyond "get quest, whack monsters, open chest, take stuff" often requires scripting, which can be challenging for anyone who's never seen a programming language before.
You'll hit an even steeper learning curve if you want to make modules that look as professional as the OC. It seems likely that some people will specialise in, say, level art or visual effects, and that the best user modules will be built by teams.

well I don't think the toolset is that easy. expect to need to read the wiki atleast to get the grasp of it. So you know where to begin and each step required to make a working module.

Well, I could work with the toolset of NWN, but NWN 2 toolset was beyond me ... I guess I'll have a hard time then

Don't worry about the hard parts of the toolset at first. Those you can get help with when needed. Have fun learning and using the aspects of the toolset you enjoy and don't get stressed.

Sound advice, Beerfish. For what it's worth, I'm finding the toolset easier than NWN2, mainly because the wiki helps step by step.

These guys seemed 2 touch base on the toolset; not much 2 add, until I get my hands on the real deal (beyond the wiki). But my impression is that it's like an onion. The outside is easier 2 peel, but the deeper (and sweeter) u go, the more likely u r 2 cry...
