Im on Alistair's quest to talk to his sister, im running around denerim but nothign triggering, does it have to be after I start the endgame?

You have to go to her house. It's one of the houses lining the inner market square district. I'll tell you which one tommorow.

You have to go into her house, mouse over the doors of the houses in the market district and you will see it.

Well, after I went to see Goldanna with Alistair it turns out she's not a very nice person... Is there any other way for the conversation to go other than loosing 15gold then getting kicked out?

I ended up having Alistair promise to talk to someone about having her family taken care of. Though nothing seemed to come of that other than the completion of his quest.

I believe you can choose some conversation options so that you at least don't lose the 15 gold (I was so pissed, I didn't realize that sovereigns were gold... I thought they were silver... even though it makes sense now). That's about all you can really do, at least from when I tried doing it a couple of times. The ungrateful woman!

I didn't lose anything. Alistair said he'd take care of it. Never happened. And then her house got burned by Darkspawn and Alistair married the queen and all lived happily ever after.
