The lyrics are a simple inspirationless piece of garbage. No depth or poetry or whatsoever. I bet it took them only 2 minutes to write this song. Really, this is NOT what I would call good lyrics.

My lack of musical knowledge? Hehe. If you want to test my knowledge (I'm a electric guitarist myself for 5 years now and I know my fair share of rock and metal music) you can PM me and discuss it there (we could do that in Dutch if you like, because I'm a Dutchie too).
Ofcourse I don't know much about "emo" music (that includes post-hardcore, emocore, screamo or anything that just sounds like what some would call "scene" or "sellouts", like 30STM), because I hate that pathetic excuse for a music genre (it's not even a real music genre). But I know a lot about anything with "rock" or "metal" in it.
I dare easily say that my musical knowledge surpasses yours by miles.

EA/BW got paid lots of money to put the song in the credits. EA/BW don't give a **** about you or the game. They got money to do a product placement, so why should they have any integrity when it comes to providing a complete package.

Eisregen is in my same playlist as Equilibrium, Eisblut, Minas Morgul and Helfart. Some really good German and Danish metal bands in my opinion.
Ofcourse it's but one of the many different rock or metal genres I listen to.
Do you know The Kovenant (yes, with a K, not a C)?

Well smack my ass and call me Susy, but the current mainstream "emo" music is NOTHING like the old fashioned hardcore punk. Yes, they say emo is a sub-branch of American hardcore punk (such as Refused, to give one of my favorite bands within that genre as an example), but compared to the old fashioned hardcore punk, todays music what we would call "emo" is total utter sellout crap.
As for me. I'm not restricted to the music from just one era. I listen to good music from the 60's, the 70's, the 80's, the 90's and even 2000 and newer.
For example, I love Black Sabbath (old heavy metal) as much as I love Finntroll (new folk/black metal).
I think every metal genre has its own charm. There are only a few metal bands that I don't like that in my opinion do not even deserve the label "metal", a few of those bands are Nightwish and Within Temptation.

No, I don´t claim to know many different bands, especially in this genre. But I´m just listening to a song by them at Youtube and I don´t think I missed much so far:P

Hey I never said Within Temptation is bad, it's just not "metal".
I've met the singer, Sharon in reallife once. They're a Dutch band and I'm Dutch myself. The Netherlands is a small country you know. Nice woman she was.

I'm not a fan of 30 seconds, and I also was pretty turned off by the fact that a song like that was in the credits of dragon age. However whether you call the lyrics shallow or not, they still do fit the theme of the game, quite well actually.
Perhaps the song 'style' may not be suited to belong int hat type of the game but I am sure it was the lyrics that got it a place there.
Either way it doesn't matter to me because its in the credits only so it doesnt wreck the game at all.
