Two questions.

First, the curve editor:

Is there any way to scroll on the left hand bar of the curve editor? Sometimes i am stuck at a crazy level and can't get back to 0-100.

is there any way to reset the curve editor to center at 0?

i should clarify that i know scrolling the mouse wheel moves the level up and down, however i can't pan upwards to 0-100. If i "zoom in" in that picture, i will end up somewhere in the high negatives.

Second question, about music:

Any way to fade a music element in a cutscene? I see that there are SoundParams in the Object Inspector, but not sure if this is what I need. Basically what I want to do is play a music file and then have it fade to nothing by the end of the scene.

Do I need to edit the music file and import it, or can I simply fade it in the toolset?

Thanks as always, folks!  :wizard:

Hold down middle mouse button to pan around in it.

Wouldn't mind learning this one, too Posted Image

Aha! thanks tmp! works perfectly. =)

yeah, i may have to look into adding new music with a faded end, but... seems so inefficient.

You could maybe experiment with something like adding curve for each parameter that goes from 100-0 and see if it has any impact. I mean, if you're lucky one of these parameters might be music volume.

Here's what i've found so far:

You can edit the curve on a music object from 0 to -100 only. There are SoundParam1 - SoundParam5 that correspond to these values. I modified their cuves to reduce them all to -100 but sadly still no effect.

I even tried to set a physical keyframe for the position orientation of the sound object and then bezier move it from the nearby location to a far away location, hoping that the radius of the sound would then drift away from the viewers, creating a sort of fade-away by movement... this did not seem to work either.

Here's a view of what i did:

Unless i'm missing something major with the sound files (like how to associate these undef values with volume?) then i have no more ideas. =(

edit: Actually i can associate a script with the cutscene. I wonder if it's possible to script a music fade.

Ooh it looks that if you set the curves for the sound parameters, it actually shows what that parameter does, in the curve window. In that screenshot the params 2-5 show as undefined and param 1 is responsible for "duck", whatever that means in DA.

I suspect to associate the undefined parameters you'd need to alter the source of the sound bank file but since we don't have these, well :/

drat.

i suppose that means the only option left is to manually fade the music and add it in the scene instead. well, at least that is do-able, i believe..
