There, poll link fixed. You can go here if you haven't already:

I guess I'm not the only one who was curious-- 328 votes so far! Of course, this is not a scientific poll (you'd need random sampling of Bioware customers to get that). But it does smell right, as the Biotic God might say.
So far it's been about 80% male. Perhaps not a surprise, but I'll say the rest of us form a sizable enough minority that Bioware should continue to placate our every desireSeriously though, I'm happy to see so many men who are willing to play a game that has strong female characters, half the time the main character.
Age wise, yes, there's a lot of teen boys. I mean, it's a video game. But that's actually only 15% of the audience. Most of us are adults, most under thirty, although a good one fourth of us are older than that. Perhaps not a surprise, because Mass Effect is marketed as a "mature" game. I think it reflects the fact that videogames have come a ways since it was just Mario rescuing the princess. I think it's a bit like SF/Fantasy in general-- back in the pulp fiction days, it was considered juvenile literature. Today, lines form to see "Avatar" and nobody is embarassed by the genre (well, perhaps the rehashed Pocahantas plotline, but that's another story).
The gender ratio is pretty consistent throughout the age groups, with the exception of teens where the boy/girl ratio is almost exclusively male. Personally speaking, I didn't really play videogames at that age, either. But there weren't games like Mass Effect in the mid 90s (I'm 29.99, btw Friday's my birthday, and I'd like an Incisor rifle) Not sure what that means, exactly. Yes, it's the age when you discover boys, but then again, the boys are discovering girls, too. Might just be stereotypes of videogames.
Anyway, may do this again in a week or so on the Dragon Age forums. I'm curious if the ratios will hold up. My hunch is that there will be more women there, but I could be wrong. If you play DA, feel free to vote there, too!
What? You wouldn't want Collector Armor instead?

Great stats, but who wants to look like a bug?Hmm...maybe that's the next DLC item-- the Biotic Flyswatter.
They can include that weapon as part of the Biotic God DLC pack. And back on topic....
I'd like to give a dejected sigh out to all my peeps on the wrong side of their 20's.

I was thinking of starting a new thread adding something about occupation or unique interests... and maybe focusing on the 30+ folks. So I'll start. I'm a nuclear engineer at an atomic power laboratory for the DOE. (no, really)

Have you tried geek dating services? (no offense intended: I'm a geek, married to a geek. We even have a geeky dog) A friend told me this one wasn't too bad: http://www.soulgeek.com/
