I prefer the setup of ME 2 where you choose a loadout before the mission. I wouldn't mind them bringing back some of the elements of ME 1 such as weapon customization but not as a go with you everywhere inventory.

Yes, if it mean I can mod my
weapons and not have a power for ammo because that's stupid and they
shouldn't so lazy and think of something better for soldiers. I miss my
modifications, my armours....wahhh

I feel the same way. I've always considered inventory management to be something I have to put up with in order to play an RPG. I'm glad ME2 removed that source of annoyance. I'd rather ME3 remains free of an inventory, as I'm enjoying ME2 as is.

That's just like saying,  "let's take the guns out of the shooter."
ME2 is a great game and does very well to stand onit's own,  but as a series, it shouldn't take out anything that makes a great RPG.  (a Bioware standard).  Inventory  is important, it should be fixed not forgotten.

I fail to see the analogy. Besides, what you said is a strawman's argument - "no inventory" is by no means the same as "no guns in a shooter". More precision, less hyperbole, please.

Awww,  poor, poor passerby.Posted Imagelol    Don't think to hard you might break something. I'm not gonna hold your hand
or carry you through this.  It would seem to be a waste of time....      But i will try to simplify
I wasn't saying they were the same but they are both important to their respective genre.
The inventory as well as a few other things were taken out of ME2.   In doing so game 2 in series became a
Shooter with light RPG elements.   I would like for a strong RPG with some things returned ( inventory ),
fixed not forgotten.

Save your condescension. It was a leap of logical fallacy to go from saying that a lack of inventory in a shooter game means a lack of guns in said game.

The addendum by Sesshomaru47 completely solidifies my stance.

I would say that the ammo part should be customizable, but for certain classes there should be one Ammo skill that you upgrade.  Also say you can mod a weapon to hold two ammo powers, have them be on the dial.  Best of both worlds.

Best of both worlds. Hated the mile long useless inventory, would like the ability to customize the guns and armour more (actually, the N7 customizing was good, just would like something similar for the rest of the crew)

I can not nor will i ever apologize for someone's short-coming.

It was you after all, that mis-understood what was said and blew it out of proportion.

However, If you feel offended, then i apologize

Reason I ask this is because I am going through the original Mass Effect game to create an alternate set for Mass Effect 2 playthrough again.

The inventory system on Mass Effect was good but very messy. Rather than having 7 coloumns of the same item. They should have just the one item with the multiplier of how many of that item you own.

So instead of   : Fire ammo, Fire ammo, Fire ammo, Fire amo. It shoudl have just read Fire ammo X 4. This way it would have been much better I think. I think most inventory systems had being doing that for years, which was why it was a surprise to see BioWare but a basic version in.

I also suggest bringing it back, as I don't think upgraded ammo should have to be done by experience points. If anything they should have been resource material or just bought from weapon shops. It makes no sense to have Shepards skill involve ammo upgrades as he doesn't make them. So I think they should be bought or resourced and you have to buy/create them for each individual team member.

What do you think?

No

I think they need to keep the premission loadout, it makes sense. It doesn't make sense to whip out any number of guns on the fly nor change armor whenever you want in me1. other than that, I wouldnt mind some inventory but leave it on the ship.

Yes, and include a weight limit or item number limit. That should shut up the complaints about "being forced" to carry so much "useless" stuff.

Yes to an inventory system that makes sense and for the love of god let me change in and out of my helmet at the premission screen if I so choose (helmet toggle without going to the cabin)

Ammo Customization: Yes please.
Helmet Toggle:            Yes Please.

Everything else: Stick to ME2 Please!

I hated the inventory in ME1. I generally hate the idea of large inventories.
"I can carry 20 guns, 35 Armor Sets and 50 types of ammo, and still have room in my pockets!
"

I liked the way it was done in ME2. You get the upgrade blueprints or scans, and then you build them yourself. Simple, logical and it doesn't break the pace as much as having to go through 5 different containers, in each room

Miranda: Hurry Shepard! Niket is getting away!

Shepard: Just a sec, I still have 3 containers that might have an upgrade we could use!

Accepted.

On topic - I've already said all I needed to say in my first post: inventory management is but a chore in most RPGs I've played including ME1, except to add that I disagree that it has to play any part in an RPG at all. What made ME1 fun definitely wasn't due to my ability to lug all the excess stuff around so that I can sell them for cash that I mostly don't need. While the story is great, I only had to play it once to experience it, which was what I did.

And I don't need to manage the buying and selling of loot to enjoy playing the role of a Spectre.

Yes and no.

I think in general ME2 is fine. But there's not -enough- stuff. I'd like more than 2 weapons (now 3-4 sometimes) to choose from. I'd like more armor pieces. I'd like to be able to tailor team mate armor in some way. I don't actually mind ammo powers. I handwave it as shooting various ammo types is different. More recoil or less, have to compensate for drift, or such. It's not perfect, but it lets me ammo powers.

What I don't want is the total clusterfrack that was ME1 inventory. There wasn't even a lot of choice, other than in ammo. And even then, not as much as on emight think. You just chose the weapon with the best damage. With ammo, there was some choice, but not a lot. And my god, the scrolling of the inventory!

Basically expand ME2's method a bit, and all is good for me.

Besides the toggle helmet option for myself and squadmates, I want nothing from the inventory page to return.

This!

I find the current ME2 inventory system to be superior to the old ME1 system; less clutter, less management.

But then again, I rarely use anything other than the N7 armor, and then I tweak that with the various options available.
I highly prefer this system to the old one. Plenty of customization, for design, again in my opinion. But then again, my tastes run simple, i.e 'basic black'.

As far as customizing weapons? Hell no!
I really don't want to spend too much time customizing my gun.
Research upgrades, into better accuracy and impact, works for me.

I used to spend too much time reducing stuff to omni-gel, in ME1, and not even, as most times I was at my omni-gel cap. There was just no reason to poke into a crate anymore, or a locker, and it was not fun juggling that many items.

I 'd rather see a few (read 4-5) uber items that can be used together, whether armor or weapons, and the rest 'standard, that you can combine.  After all, I'm a Spectre not a fashionista!
