When I try to export a level in the level editor I get a window with a list of all the steps that should happen when I export. Then I click the export button and I get log messages about the lightmaps being submitted. It tells me that the light maps have been successfully submitted but then it doesn't move on and just stays on the first step (says running) and never gives any more feedback. I have waited about 20 minutes with no feedback before giving up and cancelling it.
Do I need to be more patient? It seems to me there should be some feedback here if something is going on. There is not much in the level, I was just testing the export functionality really. Just a small level with one model, and no special lighting other than the ambient default.
Export of level hangs

Anyone else had this problem? Is it something that I have neglected to do?

Are you using the "Post All to Local" button or merely generating the light map? I've encountered this with the former but not the latter so you could try taking it one step at a time:
- light maps
- light propes
- walkmesh
- mini-map (from right-click menu as there is no toolbar button)
- post trees to local
- post to local

Well I was using the export option from the tool menu. I just tried doing Post all to local and that seemed to work fine. I don't really understand the difference but it looks like I can access my level to make an area now which is what I wanted.
If anyone would care to explain the basics of the difference between export and post to local and when you should do which that would be appreciated. I was under the impression I needed to export in order to use the level in an area.
