How do folks get Miranda to resign from Cerberus?  On all my play thru's I had her loyal to both C. and Shep...
I thought at the end of the final showdown with the human reaper and destroying the collector base, (EDI''s got full access etc)., she would see the error of her Cerb Cheer ways and tell TIM to ---- off .  Did not happen.
What am I doing wrong, if anything.

Well, it seems like most females in Bioware games are bat**** crazy ... Dawn Star is about as stable as they get, and even so she's uncomfortably idealistic and ... sees things.

With interest: Did you take Miranda with you to the final battle and destroy the base?

I think the OP is referring to the post-game, where it seems like everyone is going about their business as usual.

I.e. Miranda seems to still be working for cerberus.

(Heck, even Shepard seems to be working for cerberus in post-game .. there's cerberus funding during missions and assignments, etc)

With understanding: There was disappointment when Jacob seemed to forget about his promise for drinks on the Citadel.

Pacifen -- uh, not to the "human" reaper... she was team leader holding the line..

aboard normandy afterward, everyone mentioned the destruction of the collector base and had some comment, except Miranda - tho I can't recall if I went and talked to her specificly at that point --- I was enjoying the victory lap/

Well for DLC purposes I think it has to be this way, if you finished the game and Split from Cerberus I doubt they would send you more missions and gear so post game kinda feels more like a limbo where events don't technically move forward so you can finish up missions and DLC then export into ME3 when it arrives.

With realization: You should try taking Miranda with you to fight the final boss if you intend to destroy the base.

I left her to hold the line, and she told me it was a smart move to destroy the base back on the Normandy.

Agreed,  I left her in charge of the fire team on my first playthrough; but brought her along for the final battle in my second career and she definitely scored some major points with me when I blew up the base.   Its definitely worth trying out particularly if you like Miranda.

Indeed, take Miranda with you to fight the Reaper if you intend to blow up the base.

Although it's likely Bioware will have her quit Cerberus in ME3 either way (assuming she survives), if you want to hear her quit...you must take her with you to fight the reaper and you must blow up the base.

Are you all talkin about same game? If she is with Shep in final battle (loyal) she tells TIM

to concider this her resignation when you blow up base. Afterwards when talking with everyone on the Normandy, She says we did the right thing. I don't think she stays with Cerberus. I'm not sure with other possible endings

Basically, if you take Miranda along with you on the final battle instead of leaving her to hold the line, she's the one who holds up her omni-tool with the holographic projection of the Illusive Man. If you attempt to blow up the base, the Illusive Man has extra dialogue ordering Miranda to stop Shepard. That's when Miranda will tell the Illusive Man to consider this her resignation before cutting him off.

It's just one of the many extra dialogue options you can discover in the game depending on who you bring along with you. In my last playthrough, I brought Mordin along with me on the Dr. Okeer/Grunt recruitment option and there was an extra line saying something like "Are you jealous Mordin?" when you are asking about Okeer's work.

Really? Totally missed that one. I caught another one during Garrus' recruitment when I brought Zaeed to meet the Blue Suns leader.

But like the rest of these guys said: Bring Miranda with you on to the Human Reaper boss battle.

Does gaining her loyalty or romancing her have anything to do with her resigning?

No.She always resign, loyal or not. That makes her mission completly pointless.

Well .. I think it's funnier when she resigns then dies immediately after.

But that's just me.

It would be far better if when she isn't loyal to you, you have to kill her.   Does not make sense as it stands, but she's clearly writer's pet.
