Hello everyone

Ive been reading tons off posts with the same problem and I really tryed to fix it but I really feel like giving up at the moment. Ive been sitting here for hours and days trying to work this out.

Everytime I try to play I keep hearing people talk when Im not even near a person or talking to someone. Its extremly laud and annoying. I also keep getting this black screen everytime I use the elevator and sometimes randomly.

Ive tryed with deleteing the BIOEngine, changing the sound output on [ISACTAudio.ISACTAudioDevice] MaxChannels=64, TotalAvailableChannels=62. Ive changed it to software insteed of Hardware. Reinstalled it 6 times. Im also using Realtek Audio if that is any help.

It still doesnt work.

My PC specs:

AMD Triple Core 2,47 GHz

ATI 4670 (Superclocked)

4 GB RAM DDR2 800

Windows XP 32 Bit.

Any tips or tricks whould be appreciated.

Have a great day!

Christopher

Haven't come across this problem myself, but the first things I would try are to make sure your sound drivers are up to date, and maybe check to see if you have hyper-threading enabled - if you do, try toggling it off. Have you had similar problems with any other games or applications?

Also, make sure you have the most recent ME1 patch.

An AMD processor wouldn't have hyperthreading, and ME should be fine with multiple logical processors anyhow, just as it's fine with multiple cores in general.

Updating sound drivers definitely sounds like a good idea. The only other fix I've seen for your kind of problem, Kentan, is the occasional mention of alterations to some of the other sound parameters in BioEngine.ini. I'm afraid I don't have a link, but I remember at least one person on the old Bioware forums writing in saying they'd improved things by altering some other parameters.

The sound works from time to time but the black screen always comes after 22 min off gameplay.

Ive been reading so many forums that have the same problem and many people couldnt fix.
