It's the same thing! Except we're cheap and using plastic instead of metal pieces. I'll post pics of the internal stuff as well, but it's all the same concept. The controls though are another issues entirely...I'm still trying to figure that out....lol
and yeah, I hope so blarrgh. ;D we need to start a "you'll get it done" costume support group. hahaha
Awesome
Also I had a question, how are you planning to do Grunt's legwork? I know you have a fairly big guy (at least what looks like from the body cast) that'll be in the costume and all of the digitigrade tutorials have stilts that only support up to 180lbs. My friend really really wants to try out a krogan costume but if we can't figure out a way to support his weight on digitigrade its not going to happen...err unless he wants to walk on tiptoes.
If you're working on that, then I'll be patient and look for blog updates

Anyway!
I'm actually going to cheat it, it's hard to really explain before it's done (because some people have done it and it's like ehhhhhh, looks sort of crappy and all of the tutorials are done by really scary, but useful and talented furries lol *projectile vomits*) but because grunt has such prominent and big armor and large feet, it's super doable. More or less you put the person on wedges/heels made of foam and a pair of their old shoes, and build out the leg muscles to look like degitigrade legs with other types of foam depending on muscle density that you carve and sew into the bodysuit. And yay! fake legs! I'll be doing those soon too, so I'll be posting about it eventually. But just look up "foam degitigrade legs" and sift through all the scary **** and find the useful tutorials hahaha. It's all about faking it.
and anyway, thank you everyone for the lovely comments!! The sad part is I work full time too, but I do this sort of thing at work. So it's win win, lol.

Actually, this is sad, but my phone sound right now is Kelly Chambers going "Commander you have another message at your private terminal" It makes me laugh/cringe every time.

If they ever do wind up making a Mass Effect movie, you should probably consider yourself hired.

I wish....*sobs* lol
Though that's my ultimate goal, I want to work in movies or do costumes for game companies. They need more costume love.
Thanks again everyone!! You guys are too nice to me and my crazy...hahaha;D

Anyways, why did you choose Grunt specifically? Was it because he presented a challenge, you liked how krogans looked like, or what? Or is it because you just like the character?

So it just sort of happened. I really would have loved to make a Garrus costume, but I have a lack of tall, skinny friends who want to suffer for 6 hours at a time in a 40 pound costume for some reason. lololol
Also, Grunt's face was just made to be an awesome animatronic, he has great movement.
