Pinnacle on insanity is almost undoable by any reasonable standard. All I can suggest is make sure you take Wrex and probably Liara. This will give you good crowd control and 2 warps. Other than that no real advice.

What level are you? Pinnacle Station is pretty impossible on Insanity unless you're at least mid 50's and even then it takes several attempts

The timed hunt was impossible for me on insanity, using shotguns, different skill/party combos...I could not find the right combination. The targets were slow to kill in the alloted time. I finally beat the turian after turning the difficulty to casual. My shep was a soldier probably in the late 40's, spectre weapons, non-kassa/colossus armor.

No advice from me, I'm afraid. Pinnacle Station was enough of a pain in the ass on lower difficulty settings. For Hardcore and Insanity, I just saved myself a lot of frustration by giving myself the Geth Super Gun and blowing away enemies with one-shot apiece.

What do you mean, the timer won't go up? You're not able to kill more mobs, you're not able to find more mobs, or killing mobs doesn't increase your time?

General advice, anyway, with the volcanic hunt: you can park yourself on the lower catwalk, just at the top of the ramp. Get right up against the front railing and you'll cause enemies to continually spawn on the far shore, and occasionally (if you slide back and forth along the railing) on the upper part of the catwalk, where Lift + Throw can sometimes instakill them. Since you don't have to waste time chasing around that way you should be able to keep up a steady stream of killing.

(Also, ideal squadmates are Garrus and Ashley; the volcanic map lacks good biotic kill setups and is all about gun DPS.)
