I've been wondering how this will be handled in ME3.

Will the Quarians and Geth learn to live in peace?
Or will the Quarians' desire to reclaim their homeworld blind them to a peacable solution?

When asked about the subject on the Quarian Flotilla, Legion said if the Quarians could demonstrate they were capable of living in harmony with the Geth, they would be allowed to return home.

Personally, I'm hoping these decisions I made will bring the Quarians and the Geth back together:

I advised the Quarians not to go to war against the Geth, because we'll need them to help fight the Reapers.
Zal'Koris agreed with me, Shala'Raan may have favored the peaceful solution, Zen and the other one (can't remember his name!) weren't in favor of a peaceful solution (enslaving the Geth and destroying them outright respectively).

I kept Rael'Zorah's research into hacking Geth secret.
But Zen sent a mail message confirming she had found it or part of it. And that she was planning on using it to enslave the Geth and conquer the galaxy. Tali's right, that woman is disturbing.

When Tali and Legion got into a argument over the data he was planning to send to the Geth, I used the Paragon option to convince them to become friends and avoid triggering a Geth war against the Quarians.

i think you will decide in me3

my idea is that to face the reapers in me3 you will need the support of the quarian fleet (the biggest in the galaxy) and/or of the geths, imo is likelly that you will end up meeting the quarians that are trying to reclaim their homeworld and will ask your help to do so... depending on what you do i think you will be able to bring peace to both factions or destroy one of the faction securing the help of the other one

Well I think the Quarians need to get over it and accept peace when offered. Or work out their apparent cruelty because they attempted to wipe out the newly sentient Geth quickly, it's genocide and a bit ironic for an apparent "peaceful" race. Everything that happened to them is comeuppance for their actions. The Geth are being the sensible ones, trying to connect with the creators and make up. If anything all they need to do is clean their name of the heretic crap and they'll be acceptable for the Citadel.

Probably with lots of gunplay and a charm/intimidate check.

I'd rather not see it resolved in ME3. I can think of two reasons why it would be: a sidequest and/or an attempt by Shepard to build an army to fight the Reapers. For the first one, I think it's an interesting enough story not to get sidelined into a sidequest. For the second one, I played that Bioware game where I had to build an army already.

I'm sure that will be left for ME3. Don't have much else to say; but personally I'd rather the quarians reclaim their homeworld. But then again, the geth are sentient now. It's a tough decision.

I'm sure Bioware will wrap up the Quarian-Geth issue in ME3. At least, I hope it gets resolved. The Quarians seem ready to go to war and we get Legion who offers a startling insight into the thinking of the Geth. The whole thing just looks ripe for a resolution, for better or worse.

Maybe Shepard can intervene to help them form a temporary truce, the Reapers get smacked, then the epilogue tells the player the result of Shepard's intervention (the Quarians go to war and lost their entire fleet, or the Quarians developed a secret weapon and launched a successful full-scale assault on their homeworld, or the Quarians find another world to colonize). These are really basic scenarios, so perhaps Bioware can surprise us with something totally unexpected.

^ Something tells me Shepard WILL play a role in it. How significant, though, is beyond me.

Well I hope I get a chance to put a gun next to Zen's head and intimidate her if she tries anything, and punch the other one out who wants to destroy the geth. Renegade would work well here.

I think the quarians will re-claim their homeword because geth are only orbiting the planet so they don't cause damage to the homeworld, they could live peacefully together.

I don't think it will matter much what we did in ME2. shepard will find himself in the same quar/geth ****storm and wiil have to crack some flashlights to settle it. maybe a cameo from reegar and veetor if your helped them

I can see that:
Paragon Path:

Admiral Zala'Raan:
"We can have a peaceful resolution with the Geth"

Admiral Zaal'Koris:
"We can have a peaceful resolution with the Geth"

Admiral Han'Gerel:
[charm] "The Geth aren't interested in holding onto the Homeworld, we can get you what you want without getting 90%+ of the Quarians killed."

Admiral Daro'Xen:
This is where the gunplay comes in.

I predict even the Renegade path requiring you to take out Xen. After all, having a megalomaniacal sociciopath in control of both the Flotilla and the Geth military doesn't benefit anyone, including the Glorious Human Only Empire that Renegades aim for.

Besides, after two games shooting up lots of Geth, shooting up lots of (Xen aligned) Quarian marines in the third is just turnabout+fair play. Bound to be an interesting mission to bring Tali along on anyway.

If Legion and Tali were convinced to work together and Heretics were reprogramed all one would have to do is convince Han'Gerel and Daro'Xen and all other geth-tremist to make peace

I anticipate a quest in ME3 involving Daro'Xen and her research, either to destroy it and work out a compromise with the Geth, or to implement it.

Some of them go fight the geth, while others negotiate with them. Geth tell em, they can have their homeworld on the condition the "peaceful" Quarians do not help the "agressive quarian" in the upcoming "geth vs agressive quarian war". Everyone lives happily ever after.

THEre, we get some nice explosions, get rid of a few outdated admirals, get to see some nice Geth ships. And hopefully this pushes more towards ME being 4 games instead of a trilogy lol

Long term exposure to a weapon, can reduce the mass of any given objevt over without drawing attention to whomever did it?.

Lots of applications, but like you, can't imagine what could be used for..

I think you'll be able to get them to work together, mostly by the geth giving the quarians back their homeworld in a heartbeat.

It's probably one of the major decisions you make. You know, the kind of thing you've been doing for the last 2 games...

Considering that I rewrote the heretics, the quarians aren't going to have a chance in a war against the Geth. Unfortunately at the time I didn't know that I could attempt to convince them to not go to war if I talked to the admirals before I left for the Alarei. So whatever happens next will be in thier hands.

Although at one point on the alarei, I did suggest to Tali that the quarians should attempt to move on and colonize another world. Maybe that will have some impact on what happens in ME3?

Depending on Shepard's input they will make peace with Geth or we'll see Han'Gerrel do this.

Geth only wish for continued existence. If that means relinqueshing the quarian homeworld they would probably do it without a second though, only if they were certain they would not be attacked.

I was polite at first but I yelled at the admirals for dropping the 'your father is dead' bomb and I yelled at them when I got back trying to exile my Tali. I even asked them not to go to war but I'm not convinced any of them will listen. With luck if Tali does become an admiral she could help bring peace to bith the quarians and the geth before the galaxies defining moment...
