And to stay on topic: I think Kasumi is worth the money I spent. They had to make her somewhat powerful.

Okay people,can we get back to the damned topic?Yes,Kasumi is overpowered,blah blah blah,but that's to make sure that people who forked out $7 didn't cry about not getting enough bang for their buck(or 7).There were a crapload of people crying that Zaeed kept dying on them(it's true,especially on insanity),AND it was a free DLC.And the Geth Pulse Rifle IS pretty damned good,especially compared to the Avenger and Vindicator.So what if it sucks ass against armor?USE YOUR DAMN PISTOL THAT'S WHAT IT'S THERE FOR!!!



P.S:No I didn't get the Kasumi DLC but looking at gameplay footage,she looks overpowered,but unbelievably sick.And I didn't preorder or get the deluxe edition,so idk how good the Collector Rifle is.And GET THE DAMN ASSAULT RIFLE ACCURACY IDIOT.Or else you're gonna miss a lot,GPR or not.

not NICK, have YOU used her on Insanity? She's totally valid, if not a bully.

I don't think they overpowered her to make sales better. It would have been a topic already if that was the case. If anything, people are complaining about the lack of a dialogue wheel, and/or romance option.

I don't think Kasumi's OP. You still need someone with Warp or Incinerate on your squad against enemies with armor. As for the various difficulties, the bottom line is that there are only a few characters that make sense to use on Insanity anyway, and Kasumi just happens to be one of them - that doesn't make her OP, just a more useful character than others.



Now Miranda, on the other hand...

She is pretty much overpowered. Shadow Strike might be the best damage power in the game, but it takes some time to hurt the enemy and other than powers like warp she can't fire for a couple of seconds. Still better than the other damage powers, but not in a league of it's own.

Flashbang on the other hand makes some fights, especially anything Harbinger is involved, very easy. Kasumi in your squad means that harbinger is no threat any longer, on any difficulty.

So her powers are very strong and have a rather short cooldown. To be balanced , Shadow Strike should have the normal 12 seconds instead of only 9 and Flashbang should have maybe 18 seconds (even with the silly 30 sec cooldown of Combat Drone it would be a good power).

I don't know what was Bioware's intention with this, but if it was to boost the sales and satisfy the customers: Why not? If it cuts some of the usual complains, i'm happy. You don't have to use Kasumi all the time if you feel she make's some passages of the game to easy. That's like using Miranda all the time and complaining insanity is not a challenge.

The Geth Pulse Rifle is very effective indeed...

when the geth use it.


But comparing it to the Vindicator? That's just... I don't even know how to describe that.

I imagine a lot of people miss easily with the vindicator, and run out of ammo quickly because it shoots in bursts of three... If you miss once, you miss three times.

True enough, but the damage output once you learn to use the thing properly beats the damage output of the Geth Pulse Rifle so badly, it's almost unethical.

I agree. Since you have to pay to access Kasumi, what's the problem with her being extremely useful?

If She's OP, then why would you want to use her? Wouldn't you rather play with a balanced squad that doesn't make the game too easy for you? Especially if you have to pay for her. If she was free, then her being OP would obviously be less of an issue.

Some people like a challenge. Some don't. For most people her power wouldn't be a reason NOT to buy her.

Don't really see how Kasumi being overpowered helps sales. It's not a selling point. If BioWare purposely wanted to boost sales by making Kasumi stronger than other characters, then they'd actually need to promote her as such in the sales pitch.
