 Simple problem with hopefully a simple answer. 

I downloaded and installed patch 1.01 and now the game simply will not launch. Any fix to this that won't ruin saved games or the DLC I have?

I'm having the same problem since updating. I was debating on reinstalling the game, but I am hoping for a bugfix asap.

Experiencing similar problem. I tried "repairing" it in the configure? utility after I re-inserted the game into the drive. It said I could not repair the shortcut because I was not logged in as the administrator and I most certainly was.

I suggest updating your video drivers. When I first got the game it would always crashed when I attempted to launch it. I was on the brink of giving up when as a last attempt I updated my video drivers and *poof* it worked.



Don't know if it'll work for sure but it's worth a try

I could do that but I wasn't experiencing any problems prior to the "fix".

Same thing here i went to download new content and seen the new patch, after i downloaded it the game wouldnt start for me. Im not about to restart im pretty far in... starting to irritate me

Thing is, it wasn't crashing for me. I would click Play and nothing at all would happen... =\\



I'm reinstalling right now. I kept my saved files, but I just hope I can get my DLC again

The same here. I can't start the game. Even if I run the exe as administrator.

I got it to work. The fix posted in the thread below did not work for me. Anyway this is what I did:

Went into the program folder and right clicked the DAOrigins launcher. I clicked on run as administrator.

This gave me the lauch screen. I clicked on "Configure"

On the panel to the left I clicked "repair". From there I clicked on Desktop Shortcut etc. and it created a new shortcut that worked for me.

Yes the question seems to be will you lose your downloadable content if you reinstall the game?
