Bring Down the Sky was everything you wanted in a ME Game

It had:

- Vehicle Exploration
- Vehicle Combat
- On Foot Combat
- Puzzle Solving (Navigating through the mine field)
- Deep and emotion plot
- Impressive Dialog
- Unique and memorable characters
- Unique and engaging music
- Hollywood style gunfight at the end
- Difficult moral choice (Allow the hostages to die to kill Balak? Or Save the Hostages but allow Balak to escape?)

Since then, no other ME DLC has matched this, including Stolen Memory.

I agree on all accounts, BDtS deserves at least some kind of conclusion. +1 vote for BDtS 2.

Then you should of had Shepard kill Balak if you wanted something concrete. Otherwise, Bioware's next DLC can be an email showing up on your private terminal saying how Balak killed more colonists or his ship blew up by getting hit from a pulsar radiation beam or something. Posted Image

That emotional stare shepard gives after learning that katies brother died is the best scene to me ever in the game. Anyone else agree?

-Agree with most of that except your own squad mates don’t say a single original line.

As for anyone who didn’t play the first game or get the download the new content would be a default outcome like he succeeded in the attack. Since the default (non import) ME2 game is a renegade outcome from ME1 this would make sense.

All that said, I would love to see some sort of resolution to this, beyond the way overused and not to inspiring e-mails.

Kasumi was the best DLC Bioware has made................

A hooded theif? A mysterious woman who's also aaaaasian? OMG SO ORIGINULL

BDTS was an example of great DLC, it was long and varied, it felt like it fit in right with the universe, the things you did in it actually felt like they meant something in the universe itself.

Kinda felt like stopping those missiles was just "BDTS again because apparently override codes work like CD-keys" without the impact or the mood.

I think they're holding off for Mass effect 3 to bring some resolution to BDTS. Even if you killed Balak, he wasn't the actual leader, just the leader of the mission. That Batarian terrorist group still exists, as can be seen with the Javelin Mission. I think they'll do something more with those Batarian terrorists. If Balak is dead, you fight the actual leader. If not, you will fight Balak too.

That'd be... the sh*te. Seriously. It was the best one IMO. I let that scum bag go and now he's gonna pay since he doesn't have a bunch of hostages rigged to explode.

Charn as the first batarian squad mate and LI for ME3:?

Yeah, he's actually pretty decent for a Batarian. If they had a love-child though, how many eyes would it have?

I tried to start a post like this a while ago but it got blown out of the sky pretty quickly.
The main problem is that of all of mass effect 2's fans, probably only 2/3 - 3/4 played ME1, of that portion only a much smaller group actually downloaded Bring down the sky and of that portion probably only half let Balek live. Lets face it as far as bioware is concerned thats a pretty small market group in comparrison to things like the hammer head and kasumi which are relevant to all fans..
Personally i loved Bring down the sky and was really looking forward to shooting balek square in his dirty 4 eyed head in ME2 but sadly i cant see this happening..

I don't see this being a problem.  Why? Because if you let Wrex die in ME1 then he's replaced by another npc.  I don't see it being any different if you killed Balak.  Just replace him with a Batarian that was a member of his squad or brother or whatever.  If they never played BdtS then Balak is alive by default and EDI can fill in the gap with info about what he did in ME1.

Well put, youve got my vote again..

Meh, I played BDtS once, and wasn't that enthralled with it. I found it odd that there would be a shopping mall on an asteroid. I wasn't that captivated by Balak either. Get it? Captivated? Never mind.

I would *love* to see a follow-up of Bring Down the Sky. Love, love, love. It had one of the best and toughest choices I've ever seen in an RPG.

In spite of the big differences that would result depending on the choice your Shepard made at the end, I'm sure it would be possible to write it in such a way that everyone could play it, no matter what their ME1 choice. :-)

The basic storyline had a lot more difficult choices than BDtS did. Letting Balak go posed no immediate danger (especially when you had a damn warship in stealth in orbit!) so sacrificing the hostages was pretty "evil" deed IMO.

Maybe if you killed him some secret organization decides to rebuild him. *cough*

And yet, if you do let him go, he's listed as still being at large in ME2...

:D

Hilarious and meta as that would be, I'm guessing we'd just deal with a higher-up in the organisation, or one of his friends bent on revenge, or some such.

Which makes about as much sense as the ending of FO3.

I’m all up for this! Bring Down the Sky was the best Mass Effect DLC they had and that was the first DLC! Even if they don’t bring a part 2 for this I hope they make a DLC similar to the style of BDtS. I’ll gladly pay for DLC like this.

I really hope bioware does not leave the story arc hanging in the wind. I really want to kill that batarian bastard now.
Same goes for my retirement home I won from admiral yellsalot.

I attacked, he killed the hostages, no negotiating with Terrorists. It was tough to chose, but I then thought about the consequences. Attack him and lose the hostages, and catch Balak, stopping him from killing anyone else. Let him go, save 10 people and give him the chance to continue his terrorist activities.

And this time around it should be titled Bring Down The Balak. lol

I support this dlc idea. It would be nice to bring closure to BDtS story.

Is there a general interest in a sequel to this? Let's get the ball rolling people Posted Image

Bring Down the Sky was pretty good.

What would be rather cool is if they made it a lasting "side thread" through all 3 games.

Mass Effect 1 Post Release: Bring Down the Sky

Mass Effect 2 Post Release: Devils in my Sky (Shepard takes a personal interest in hunting down Batarian terrorist groups (including Balak if he was allowed to escape)).

Mass Effect 3 Post Release: Verge of the Enemy Sky (Shepard visits the Batarian homeworld(s) in the Skyllian Verge to unleash hell (Renegade) or make lasting changes in Batarian society via diplomacy (Paragon).

pretty sure theres a news report on the citadel saying that the colony was having a ceremony to honor shepards work stopping the attack.. except that the lousy colonists didnt even invite us to our own ceremony!
