Yeah, I hope for the same thing.  ME2 felt much shorter and less well woven together.  If ME3 isn't as good as ME1 was and if they actually kill JT off I may just not buy it.... like I don't buy dlc that has no crew dialog... yay for silent missions and me being stuborn as a mule:lol:  (though I am a little curious about Overlord lol but I won't be able to play ME for a few weeks anyway)

I worry too that they will axe the characters that don't have as many fans and keep only the ones that have the most, such as Tali. No offense intended, Talimancers, I just hope Jacob shows up in ME3, especially since some of my Shepards are sweet on him.



It would be good to hear more about his past with Miranda and perhaps an explanation of his comment "She deserves a better man than I". Did they date? Interesting.

I like Jacob with hair as well. Having him bald with no facial hair makes him seem generic. How about we give Jacob his ME2 look but with his MEG weapons, powers, and armor?

jacobs dialog on the ship was the best by far, my favorite squadmate in the game. Though I didn't like to use him because he felt pretty weak, that didn't really have much of an effect on his character development. people only like characters that are female and/or not human it seems.

I like pretty much every other character too of course, but cmon, they weren't so much better than him that they deserve 80x the discussion do they? I of course want to see characters like Tali, Garrus and Miranda in ME3 with very prominent roles, but if Jacob isn't held to the same esteem (and you can bet it'll be because he's not very popular, if it happens) i'll be very dissapointed. The only characters who really shouldn't be in ME3 still working with Shepard are Samara & Thane (assuming he dies).

The point is that he cares about what she is going through instead of merely taking what he wants. And there is not a lot of support for Shepard from other sources. Jacob is a good guy.

Some musings on Jacob:



I've been replaying Mass Effect 2. For all the criticisms I and others have about his romance, talking to him as Male Shepard really isn't bad. He's still definitely stand offish about some things like Miranda and his father, but there's definitely some great bro and soldier to soldier dialog there. I appreciate that, even if it's not quite as satisfying as the talks with Garrus. Without factoring his romance, Jacob is actually one of my favorite characters.



There's a surprising amount of depth to his conversations. I've been saving before talking to him and experimenting with different dialog options, and the conversation can take whole different routes depending on what you say.

Jacob's romance is unique in that the flirting can start before Horizon. I thought Jacob's reaction to F!Shepard coming on to him was awkward and funny (in a good way), but I wish that F!Shepard wasn't so forward and sexual. Trying to see if the Jacob romance is possible without F!Shepard coming off as sleazy (so far as the pre Omega-4 relay goes, anyway)

I think Zaeed is probably more "popular" than Jacob in the way that those who do like Zaeed probably like him more than they do Jacob. At the same time, there may be more people who don't mind Jacob. What occcurs in Zaeed's loyalty mission puts a lot of people off.

This is the general opinion about the male human squadmates:

Kaidan: boring, whines the whole time

Zaeed: he has no dialogue wheel, so he's boring

Jacob: But the priiize?

I would have to agree, Collider. Jacob honestly is not that bad with ManShep (just finished a playthrough with a Manshep) and the whole friendship and brohug really suited the ManShep/Jacob friendship. But with FemShep, she sounds so breathless, like she wants to pounce on Jacob and savour his abs. I like Hale as VO for FemShep, but what in the mind of the voice cast director to choose these lines?



At least Hale sounds decent most other times she tries to be seductive.

I think what ruined Kaidan alot was his VA. He is a good VAs but it made people like me who played KOTOR alot knida go "OH NOES NOT CARTH!" I don't mind Kaidan, he has a intresting backstory and does not get the attention he deserves, just like Jacob and Zaeed.

I think Zaeed gets enough attention. He even has his own "Chuck Norris" jokes. Kaidan has quite a bit of attention from some people (mostly women) but yes, not all that much from men. Although I do regard Kaidan as one of my favorite characters.
