False.  Even Jacob's sub-par skill set is better than Legion's.  And if you're talking about personality... well one of them has a personality and one of them isn't even a person.  So...

Miranda is the only romance that dosen't happen in bed...for all i remmember..wonder why she got a nice bed in her office.

I always figured Miranda picked that location just to screw with Tali and Jack.

But yeah, none of the romances were really that good in ME2, all of them being petty rushed compared to in ME1.

I'm hoping in ME3 Jacob does come back and gets the Garrus treatment, loosening up a little since he's no longer on a suicide mission.

Yes Jacob is in need of the Garrus touch. I support Badass Jacob!

I don't know what treatment they gave him for ME2 but ... it wasn't a good one... where is humanly proportioned renegade JT?!?!?! Hiding in disguise.... he is SUPER JACOB! He has awesome armor... jet packs and he can light fire on FIRE!

Pull field, inferno ammo and Heavy Barrier are not sub par by a long shot. I choose him often because he's one the few squadmates that can survive a heavy fire fight without having to hide them. Squaddies like Miranda, Garrus Thane, Kasumi, Zaeed don't last long if the enemy focus' it's fire on them.  His heavy barrier lasts for 60 seconds but recharges like every 10 seconds, so he can constantly spam it. The enemy basically has a ten second window to kill him.  That's hard to do when he's fighting from behind cover and with two other squad mates. Aside from Grunt or Legion, I consider the other squad mates squishy. Jacob being sub par is complete bs. With the new Geth Shotgun he's deadly at any range (although the hand cannon served the same purpose). Zaeed's and Samara hold the line scores must be higher than Jacob's because of  their offensive skills because they certainly wouldn't last  longer under fire that's for sure.

My experience with Jacob (on Insanity) is that the Barrier doesn't add all that much survivability.  It gets stripped so fast that he needs to cast it constantly, meaning I cannot rely on him for Pull Field.  Flagging him away from every fight helps remedy this problem a bit, but then I'm not getting any mileage out of his Geth Plasma Shotgun.

It's been brought up dozens of times, but Jacob's main combat problem is that the player is not in complete control of when he uses Barrier.  And Barrier's recharge, despite your description, is pretty long when compared with most other squadmate powers (except the drones, of course).  If a patch were to address this and add a squad AI mode where no powers would be used, no matter what, then Jacob's effectiveness would increase substantially.

It's called Mass Effect Galaxy.  It's for the iPhone or iPod Touch.

Honestly I wish they would just put ability use back to the way it was in ME1. I use throw so now I can't heal my squad until my powers recharge? That makes sense... my finger is suddenly immobile and cannot access my omni-tool.... but I think that would solve problems for some of the abilities with longer recast times... in ME1 barrier used to save me all the time but now it's such a hassle. I haven't played on insanity so I never really think about who I bring on a mission. Mostly my thought is ... what bazaar catch phrases do I want to hear today... because that's all I'm going to hear because there is so little dialogue.... and some of JT's are pretty entertaining.

Also, yeah that game is for the iphone/touch and it's a shame more people don't get to see Super Jacob at work.

That's why it's called insanity. Even melee foes have shield protection which is insane.  All the team mates struggle on that difficulty. That difficulty is meant for Shephard not the squad. I don't believe the squad were designed to fight effectively on that level any way.  If his barrier is being stripped away as fast you say, I can imagine how quickly the other squad without protection would go down if under fire. The barrier has a twelve second recharge time and that's before biotic cool down upgrades.

The barrier recharge is no longer than any other protection power. It's equal to Legion's Geth Shield, and faster than Grunt's fortification. Of course the recharge is going to be longer than an offensive power like warp. He would be near invincible if barrier recharged every 5 seconds.

I wouldn't mind a patch for his barrier usage (Grunt and Legion have the same problem) but I often put his barrier up before he even does it. I basically spam it.  It doesn't interfere with my play style much.  I use Jacob mostly for gun damage, flanking and occassional crowd control with pull (when available). I rank JT number 3 IMO after Legion and Grunt .

Your comparison with Legion and Grunt isn't entirely fair, as neither of those two squadmates has all that useful of active skills that you'd want to use as often as Jacob's Pull Field.  What I mean is I don't particularly care if Grunt is on the front lines spamming Fortification while charging Husks.  What else am I going to use his cooldown for?  Concussive Shot?  The same goes for Legion.  I'd rather have his GSB up constantly to increase his Widow damage and keep him alive than have him throwing out papier-mâché drones once every half a minute.

It is a fair comparison.  You just have a different opinion. The widow is powerful enough as it is without any boost from Legion's shield. The drones are always useful for distraction. I  use Legion's drones more than his shield boost.  Concussive blast is useful for crowd control much like pull field but not as long. I use it quite often when available. It all depends on one's play style. Playing on insanity may be a different scenario but that's what happens when one plays on an insane difficulty.

Jacob gets no respect becuase of his prize line. Jacob is probbly the best LI because he gives Shepard a chance to vent their thoughts and feelings instead of dumping their issues on him/her. plus he's awesome with a shotgun.

Reach?

What I would've loved to see though is some interactions between him and Kasumi. That probably would've been funny.

Amen Brother, also, kudos to DirtyVagrant for knowing the "Prune Juice" reference, it's good to know I'm not the only nerd here.
