They would've disliked Jacob anyway. There was plenty of hate for him on the old Bioware site before game was even released.  As for the scene with Tali.....Jacob was polite. Tali was not. That's all. Jake  was polite to Samara. Samara was polite in return. They shook hands. That's all.  What more is there to it?

Like someone said earlier, haters are gonna hate. If they can't find something of substance to hate, they'll find something frivolous ( like waist size) to hate on. As for character popularity, most of the people who bought the game are not members on this site and probably never will be.

Jacob is that kind of guy who will stay by your side, without caring if you're with Cerberus or not.

Jacob has good reasons to not trust Thane and Legion, Thane is an assasin and Legion is a former enemy and also Jacob was on Eden Prime.

I agree with you gashgfjaskgfkagh. Tali irritated me twice. One for being rude to a polite  Jacob even when she agrees to stay on the ship and fight along side Cerberus. Two for firing her gun on the ship when I sided with Legion. I just saved her ass from exile and she has the nerve to say, "Shepard I trusted you!". That sealed her fate in the Suicide mission for me.

Does Jacob posess Metagaming knowledge outside the game's narrative? He should be aware and concerned about Bioware site fan support for Legion? C'mon.

Some people also dislike him because he is a part of Cerberus. Most people just have there heads up there asses (for disliking characters for such trivial reasons).

           i like Legion....but if i were in Jacob's position i would not have liked a geth on the ship
           And while Tali is rude i for one want to have no casualties in my crew(on any game i play).....

Agreed.  I think a squadmate death should only be a bad thing, meaning less options in ME3.  If you get Jacob killed, for example, it shouldn't open up a squadmate slot for some other NPC.  I don't think we should be rewarded for losing people in the suicide mission.

      No one wanted the Geth on board...i guess Shepard's choice to keep him was justified by curiosity as Legion helped him a bit.
