Ah yes, worse things. A hypothetical turn of events that is worse than what is presently occuring. We've dismissed those claims ;)

Well....I haven't been able to come up with any good JT conversations. So I figured I'd go with the old tried and true Turian Councilor ****** response post.

Haha, I can't help it... XD

Onto a Jacob discussion: It is interesting to note that Jacob says "the prize" in the romance. One person pointed out in one of the threads that it could relate to Jacob being in the Corsairs for the Alliance. Historically, a seized vessel would be called a 'prized vessel'. So it's not that he thinks that FemShep is "teh prriiiizzeee" but more of someone he has to work to get (since Corsairs earn their living trying to capture vessels and auctioning them off for a stipend).

I don't know if it's been discussed, but I found it interesting.

Never thought of that Alexine. It dose make sense. During the romance Jacob shows that he really cares for Shepard. The use of 'The Prize' could be Jacob's way of telling Shepard how much she means to him, not that she is a prize. That is just how I see it.

I think the problem was that BW didn't go into the Jacob's background enough for people to link up that connection. I mean, Jacob only mentions it briefly that he was part of the Corsairs on the Cerberus facility at the beginning and remembering lore and background information becomes lost when the pre-Omega-5 relay romance scene comes rolling in (especially if it's a 40 hour game with a large proportion of gamers, including myself have short attention spans). It wouldn't be too hard what the Corsairs did for the Alliance. Jacob didn't need the baggage of most other characters, but he needs some quirk or hook. Sadly that hook is "teh prize", which is the only link to his foggy background.

I think Bioware was expect every one to play or a lest read spoilers for ME:G. But since most people did not and Jacob's background info in ME2 is only brought up rarely misunderstandings like 'The Prize' happen.

Overall, I think Jacob's character is heavily misunderstood at times. Kaidan was sort of the same as well. Kaidan was called 'whiny' and bland. He wasn't my cup of tea for a romance option, but he had a solid character, and a good reliable person and friend. Bioware tries to reverse it with Jacob, creating a character who isn't 'whiny', but in response made his character seem "blander" to most people who don't understand the references.

Sometimes I pity Bioware, because in the end, they do take feedback a little too seriously. Gamers are a fickle lot. :P

I agree, Bioware needs to stop taking feedback so seriously and put more focus and followthru in there games. Listening to what your fans say is important but you can't make everyone happy.

Tali:"Jacob, I didn't expect to see you here. I was in the middle of running some manual diagnostics on the drive core."

Jacob:"I was just making sure everyone was okay. The ride got bumpy and I thought Jack may have decided to tear a hole in the bulk head."

Tali:"Sorry. Gabby and Ken noticed some irregularities in the drive core's output. EDI cautioned me against making adjustments while the drive was in operation but, Shepard has an important meeting with the Council. I did not wish stop the Normandy over some minor repairs."

Jacob:"Now that I know that Jack isn't on a rampage, I'll take my leave."

Tali:"Wait Jacob, I have been meaning to talk to you. When, we first met I treated you a little harshly."

Jacob:"Given Cerberus' history with the Migrant Fleet, I understood your hostility. It didn't help matters than mentioned ship's AI."

Tali:"Still, I feel badly. I should not have snapped at you like that. As Quarian, I am constantly getting prejudged. People assume that I'm a vagrant or a thief. I should not have prejudged you based on your Cerberus affiliation."

Jacob:"I'm glad we had a chance to clear the air. I'm usually not a big fan of forcing talks. So, I just gave you your space."

Tali:"I must admit that I still am surprised that such a nice guy would be tied up with Cerberus. Oh course Kelly is really nice too. Come to think of it, you seem to steer clear of her as well"

Jacob:"I can see that you are about to ask me why I've been avoiding Ms. Chambers. Trust when I say you really don't want to know."

Tali:"I noticed that Mordin avoids her as well. I've tried to ask him about it a few times. Whenever I bring it up, he always has to run to continue his research. Maybe I'll just ask Kasumi. She seems to know about everything that happens on the Normandy."
