It would be easy to make as well. Just recycle Shepards drunken lines and slow down one of Jacobs dialogues a few tones. Rinse/Repeat and you have yourself the best DLC on the planet!

Although speaking seriously, I liked Jacob. He was one of my favorite ME2 squadmates(I liked Kaidan, too, but I kept getting the "Ohgawd, Carth!?" feeling when he talked), and that right off the bat.

Thanks for that.  It was interesting to see the old debate about "She requires a better man than I" brought up again, with some people clearly on the defensive about what that means.

I always took that line to be more a dig on Miranda than Shepard. That Miranda will never be happy.
I romanced him in my last play through with a Shepard that had romanced  Liara in ME1. My only real complaint about the romance are the animations for both Jacob and Shepard. The words say that they are both really looking for something meaningful and long-term, but the animations suggest its a lusty one-night stand.

I, too, always took it as a dig at Miranda's high maintenance. Just goes to show how a person projects their own biases into another's words. I highly doubt Jacob would ever mean "I'm not good enough for her" and then insist he's good enough for Shepard. Good people just don't enter into relationships thinking that way. But, again, if you want to take offense, offensive it will be. That's how misunderstandings happen.

Yea, there's little doubt that Jacob didn't actually try to insult female Shepard there or imply that she was second best imo. I'm not sure he was taking a jab at Miranda there, or at least he seemed to have been sugar coating it out of some lingering respect for her. Or he didn't want to let Shepard on in some of the finer details of what happened.

Well I've said it before. It was a nice way for Jacob to say he wasn't willing to put up with her BS.

One thing I never understood is how people took that exchange after his oyalty mission as evidence that they still had feelings for each other in a sense that they should just give it up and be together again. I wonder if these people have never had relationships that went bad in spite of there still being loving feelings for the other person. If Jacob found Miranda to be high maintenance or demanding or simply having different goals from him, that's reason enough to end the relationship and not think back on it unless something changes. And he can find a different and better love in the arms of another woman without having the Miranda factor always looming in the background. It's the past. If anyone were to take the stance that the past is the past and you need to move on, it'd be Jacob.

I believe Jacob dumped Miranda. Here's why....

1. Miranda sends Jacob an anonymous tip about the Hugo Gernbeck instead of telling him face to face. A Witch move IMO. This seems to imply scorn/ hurt feelings on her part. Jacob could have killed on that mission. They work on the same ship and she couldn't bother to tell him.

2. Jacob claimed after his loyalty mission that he hadn't thought about his days with Miranda in a long time. He's saying he's long moved on.  Miranda goes to the trouble of keeping a promise that Jacob doesn't even care to remember.

3. There is a clear difference in the way they look at each other after JT's mission. Miranda looks hurt and Jacob looks annoyed. Actually he seems annoyed with her behavior at a few points in the game.  (Jacob: "Yeah......you've said that a few times now.")


When Jake says Miranda requires a better man than himself; he's just being polite about why he dumped her.

This is truly the good side of the Jacob romance, usually to romance someone in ME you just have to be nice to them and the LI will do the rest of the work...

This is truly the good side of the Jacob romance, usually to romance someone in ME you just have to be nice to them and the LI will do the rest of the work...

This and he doesn't go crazy or super depressed if he gets turned down.

I never had the difficulty of going into friend-zone for Jacob. I didn't know until after I finished my first playthrough that you can romance him (from BSN and its quote of the priiizeee *facepalm*).

Well hopefully he will be back as Shepard's second and the fact that he is romanceable should mean that he gets a spot in ME3 automatically.

I don't think he, or any ME2 squaddies for that matter, will be playable, but I can see him accompany you on mission to recruit some of his old Corsair buddies or other people he's met in the past.

The idea of bringing back the old squad seems unlikely but maybe they'll suprise us. They could bring back every one who survived the suicide mission except  Zaeed, Kasumi and others who have no reason to stay. This would allow new squad mates to replace them in ME3.

Well JT is only ME series character besides Shepard to get headline his own game. Bioware seems to like him. They could have just as easily made Miranda the star of ME: Galaxy...............but they didn't.

Got a funny glitch to tell you about, my friend was playing ME2 the other day and during Miranda's lines came out of Jacob. It was her voice but Jacob was saying them.
