I get a similar glitch (well I think it's a glitch) during Thanes loyalty mission. When Shepard is on the catwalk and Thane is radioing in, Shepard's mouth moves to Thane's lines... perfectly. It's like the animators did it on purpose!Sand King wrote...

Just started a ME2 character import run where Jacob was leveled up completlyand he is accurate as hell with the GPS, it was almost like he was sniping those vorcha then went "I put him down"
Jacob with the GPS is a beast. I was actually getting annoyed because he was kill stealing.
I'm keeping my fingers crossed for two specific future DLC, one revolving around the Virmire Survivor and the other focusing on ME2 LI. Jacob was really subdued in the game because he put the mission before his personally feelings, so I wouldn't mind seeing how Jacob acts during down time.

I agree, and it would give the writers the chance to fix his dialogue.PrinceLionheart wrote...

The most important things that needs to be fixed is FemShep and her "Sexy time, NAO!" lines. This is still the biggest problem with the Jacob Romance IMO.ADLegend21 wrote...

I can guarantee that it was Bioware and not Hale. The voice director determines the tone of the dialog not the voice actor.
Or maybe Hale really liked his Abs.

Bioware touts it's ability to be receptive to their fan's response to their games and characters so one direction they might take is not making female Shepard sound as sleezy around him. I think exploring his time and ties with the Corsairs has promise in injecting "excitement" into the character, I believe that has been a common musing throughout this thread.

It can't be repeated enough, from LoTSB you can see that Bioware actually looks through the fan threads. Maybe we should make a list about things we would like to change/be added?DirtyVagrant wrote...

Maybe finally giving Jacob an Assault Rifle?
But yeah, outside of tells of his adventures as a Corsair, I wouldn't mind him reflecting on his stance with Cerberus. Even though he's just the hid of security, he has to have more of an opinion on the organization. Miranda and her talks on Cerberus is one of the reasons I liked her. She was really honest about both their faults and benefits.

Shepard's reaction does indeed make it seem as though she sees Jacob as one handy slab of beef, and that there isn't more to it than that. Which isn't really fair to him at all. There's material there if they (the writers) try. The only question is whether or not they will bother to give him screen time enough to be developed further. Or perhaps they will try only to be told that his story has to be pared back to save on space. Which would suck.

His barrier skill should be available to him from the start as durability sets JT apart from most of the others and since a shotgun is his primary weapon. It's kind of hard to get close with a shotgun without a heavy barrier to back you up (just ask those two softies Jack and Tali). It's just common sense. I like the skill set JT has but the addition of Sabotage and Barrier available from the start would seal the deal.
Now Jacob volunteering for the vents during the suicide mission is very out of character for him compared to the rest of the game. It makes me wonder WTF they were thinking when they wrote that bit of nonsense. Very cliche in sci-fi. Intelligent, cautious Black guy sacrifices himself for no good reason. "Sounds like a suicide mission.....I volunteer. " Really Bioware Jacob would say that? "The prize" line doesn't bother me at all; but the volunteer bit? C'mon.

I admit Bioware did some questionable things with Jacob. The removal of Jacob's tech ability from ME:Galaxy. I would have given him 'tech heavy or area Sabotage' as a loyalty power in addition to his current skill set. It would overheat enemy weapons and inflict some damage to shields. The great thing about this ability is it would work on any enemy that holds a gun regardless of defenses.
Sounds like a useful power! That would have made Jacob much more useful in combat!
Totally agree with you here. Barrier is a pretty weak from level one to three, and by the time people complete his loyalty mission they have to settle for the level one or two. They should have replaced that with Inferno Ammo (which I think is pretty useless for Jacob), at least that'll give people the chance to fill up the power bar!His barrier skill should be available to him from the start as durability sets JT apart from most of the others and since a shotgun is his primary weapon. I love inferno. Inferno ammo is best in shotguns and pistols so I wouldn't take that away from JT. It would be great if you could build your squad's powers. They could give you a choice between Jacob with pull or Jacob with Sabotage. Pull is the only power I would trade in for tech Sabotage.
The whole tech Sabotage thing would also match Jacob's job on the Normandy which is chief of weapons. Who better to disable them in combat? Damn, Bioware should have thought of that.
