Very true, if you get past Hale's creepy voice Jacob shows that he really cares for Shepard.

Well, now that I know the comic didn't meet my expectations, I will go along with my plan to recreate my Shepard. Spacer/Sole Survivor Sentinel. Jacob will become my official wingman when I import him.

Yes. I've played it recently after long hesitation. The "prize" line and femShep's introductory dialogue are really fubared, but apart from that Jacob's is a good romance. It's unfortunate that his writer obviously didn't know the dangers of that "prize" line. IMO if that wasn't there, people would excuse femShep her tone.

Wanted to ask. Just like Miranda tells TIM she quits if you take her at the ending of the suicide mission. Is there any peculiar that Jacob says as well or not? can't seem to find anything on the web.

No, there isn't any. TIM doesn't order Jacob to not let Shepard destroy the base. You have to remember that TIM mentions that Jacob isn't exactly... dedicated as, say, Miranda to the Cerberus cause given the dark history the organization has.

 Nothing when talking directly to TIM, but when you're back on the Normandy he does say something along the lines of:
"Way to tell the boss you're quitting, wish I could've seen his face..."
Although that is if you didn't take him to the HR. I can't remember if he says anything different if you do take him, but I assume he does.

Hi, hope you don't mind me crashing......

I am normally a Kaidan gal, but since the PS3 version allows me a way to avoid the puppy eyes I thought I would try the Jacob romance in a play through and once you get past the absolute humiliation of Hale's stalking he is pretty sweet.

Anyway, my reason for crashing is this, it was all going really well and as far as Shep is concerned she is still in the zone with him and he with her.... HOWEVER.........Kasumi (or 'man stealing strumpet', as she will be known in future, lol) keeps saying she heard about me and Jacob and we were a great couple but that he was back on the market... ¬-¬

Has anyone experienced this, or am I blissfully unaware that he is going to dump my Shepard, lol?

Someone posted earlier that the dialogue is either glitched or Kasumi is blindly optimistic.

As long as you haven't dumped Jacob (or he hasn't dumped you), the romance should still be active!

One of the cool things about his romance, is that your Shepard can tell him how she is feeling (survivor's guilt, the burden of command, loneliness), the focus isn't primarily on him like the other romances; his history, his problems, etc. You don't really get that opportunity often for Shepard to vocalize her/his feelings, so a FemShep has the opportunity here to do so. It's only fairly recently with the release of LotSB that Shep can do so again with Liara.

Does anyone know the origin of this pose? I've seen it a few times in images, with Jacob, but I can't think what mission or cutscene it takes place in.

I'm pretty sure that's not from in game cinematics. It's a higher quality rendered image and he looks somewhat different. My guess is this was done by the same folks who did the debut ME2 trailer. Blur CG studio I think. 

Notice that every squad member's model in the trailers looked different than they did in the actual game. Compare Miranda's look on the ME2 game packaging  vs. her in game model. They look like 2 different women.

Jacob looks very good here. Blur should have gave him a proper appearance in the debut trailer but that was probably Bioware's decision.

This playthrough of ME2 I decided to spend more time talking to Jacob, because my previous playthroughs I pretty much got to the point where Hale is all "zomg flirty mcflirtyson" when I really DID just want to talk, and decided to go play with Thane, lol. So this time I put up with the McFlitrty voice and I have to say, I really misjudged this character, particularly the love interest line with him! I didn't realize that he's one of the few romance options you can go through choosing renegade conversation options, which always bugs me about other LIs. He's actually INTERESTING and, if I may say so about a fake person, surprisingly sexy without being cheap. There's just enough awkwardness in the beginning, too, to keep it realistic, without being tedious like Garrus. I'd like to have more backstory but his personality is actually really well done - one of the few characters in the game with a hard and fast viewpoint. Seriously? Jacob is underrated.



So, Jacob, I have misjudged you. You are more than a fantastic arrangement of pixels (particularly in the derriere) and a bad prize line.
