The problem though is the average gamer starts to complain when they can't make things go their way. It was the reason behind people getting mad at Alistair for not backing down in Dragon Age.

Worth it! Totally imo, I made a Shepard just for Jacob and the ickiness at the beginning, well it gets better - fast! Not to mention it isn't really Jacob that is icky, it's Shepard...... (apart from..............well, you know, but that is over in like a secondjeweledleah wrote...

My personal in-universe explanation for some weird lines from JT is that because of FemShep's behaviour he thought Shep likes those kind of lines.

I don't see them at all bt everyone has their own views of flirting and "I'm more interested in talking for a bit" seemsto be flirty. when I gave his romance a try I was honestly shocked when he asked femshep how she felt about the whole thing. "Wait..did he ask me...how I feel?" everyone else is just oh this happened and this happened....that's it,I'm done talking to you now" and his don't wanna talkline changes when you romance him instead of garrus's calibration line being universal. his romance reminds me of Ash's a little because he doens't need Shepard to be a crutch an he deals with his problems on his own and doens't burden Shepard with them.Lapis Lazuli wrote...
I'm interested in this thread not because I'm the biggest Jacob fan, but because the level of Jacob hateration that I see on these boards is disturbing to me. I'm also apparently rare in that I don't see any ickiness in Jennifer Hale's flirtatious voice inflections.

I finished up a playthrough of ME, intending to have my Shepard save herself for Jacob and instead wound up at the center of a catfight between two people, gah! I stuck with that guy in my avatar in the end.
Cheers, everyone!

It took me two weeks to muscle
through all 186 pages of this thread. Good on the core posters for
staying positive in the face of a lot of irrational Jacob-hate.

I think I'll play ME2 twice, keeping him once and pursuing Jacob in the
other. As soon as I finish up, I'll be posting a fanfic on FF.net. I
got lots of good ideas ... ../../../images/forum/emoticons/cool.png

A Jacob fanfic? Those are alwasy welcome!
Jacob is a LI so he should get atleast a cameo simply because of that, I can't say for sure if we will be able to continue his romance since Bioware has already shown they only care for the "fan favorites" <_<DirtyVagrant wrote...
I'm confident each character will get their fair shake come ME3, including Jacob. Glad to see positive words and I guess... Jacob-converts? supporting the thread.
Jacob-coverts... Why do I think of the Qunari now? Imagine Jacob as the Arishok...

I'll have to listen to this recent interview. I'm keeping a positive attitude, like the other poster, I've started a my first FemShep in ME with the intention of romancing Jacob in ME2.

Hah! I don't think Jacob is as... gruff as the Arishok. But it is genuinely nice to see people pop in and just speak of their changing opinion on the character.

That's my biggest worry, especially since because of the higher amount of alien LIs JT has a prettty low popularity and we know what heppens with unpopular characters... <_<ADLegend21 wrote...
As much as I like Jacob, he's a human LI. If Bioware treats the Me2 Human LI's lie they did ashley and Kaidan then Jacob's not gonna show up or he's gonna dump Shepard for no reason no matter what dialogue the player chooses.

They are a couple reasons for that, first I noticed females are more interested in alien characters, especially if they don't look like humans (Garrus is a good example), than human characters. Second is the way how Hale handled the dialogue, it scares people off. Third is that now Jacob is considered to be a joke character, nobody takes him seriously even while he is the most serious character in the squad. They are also a couple other reasons which I can't remember now.RPGmom28 wrote...
I think a lot of people have an automatic prejudice against a male human love interest in a Bioware game. It's not just that the writers are ready to pluck them out of our reach as in Kaidan's "romance" that turned into Horizon heartbreak. After all, we did get Carth in the end of KOTOR if we wanted him. It's as if some people feel an automatic "Oh, you're here for the girls" spite toward male humans. I say that with all confidence because it's how I felt about Miranda at first glance. Eyeroll, skintight outfit, totally to draw in the male player. So many people were ready to hate Jacob at first introduction. But I don't get what makes so many female players not give him a shot.

for MAss effectI just find it that most female are intrigued by "humping" (for lack of a better term) men of different species. Kaidan's called a whiner for his BaAt story even though he says his past is fine but garrus complains nonstop about c-Sec and his dad in ME1 and then about his Omega team in Me2 yet he's one of the most popular femshep LI's. Thane's mysterious and talks alot about his dead wife and he 's up there in popularity as an LI too. I jsut did a poll in the femshep threads about who they'd romance besides their canon choice and not one of them said Jacob and when asked why they said "because of how Hale talks to him" I nearly concussed myself with the facepalm that resulted.RPGmom28 wrote...
