Exactly, it's the dumbest reason to avoid someone.

Sadly it seems to be the main reason for most Jacob haters :(

EDIT: Since we not often get to the next page it's time for a JT pic! :wizard:

Good to see Jacob has gained more support (sort of) while I've been gone.

About Garrus- I can tell you that I like him too, but it's mostly because of his voice, which is rich and deep. Jacob also has a very deep voice, however. One of the things I liked about him when he first came onscreen in my first playthrough was how his voice and demeanor made you feel safe as though he would be there for you and could be trusted. I got a positive vibe from him right away. And so right off the bat I was excited to see where that could go.

I know what you're talking about. Even in ME1, when Garrus didn't have much of a sense of humor, he was the guy I felt an automatic bond with. In this sense, Garrus is like my college buddy and Jacob is definitely my best friend at the office.

And really, in all honesty, Jacob reminded me of a more "Proactive" version of Garrus from ME1. Like Garrus, Jacob was disillusioned with how his previous employer worked, but instead of grudgingly working through it like Garrus did, Jacob decided to jump ship to group who actually did something. This is why I'm really invested in Jacob returning in the third game. Dude has a potential when it comes to character development. Unlike the other love interests (save for Kaidan and Ashley ironically) he doesn't seem emotionally dependant on Shep either.

You've got a point, even though peole stay away from him cuz of Hale mostly, he cracks jokes and is an all around  light hearted person but can be serious when the time calls for it. He also has a strong moral compass and is helpful, even if it's not always percieved as that.Image IPB

Currently working my way through the "Fight for the Love" thread.  I noticed some Jacob-bashing there as well. [Although one very prominent poster noted that he was the ONLY LI from ME2 that she pursued (!)]  One opinion that I saw posted is that Jacob's romance is "a loveless booty call."  Thanks to you good folk, I already know that's not true. Image IPB    For what it's worth, that same poster also admitted that they had never played it through to completion, so heh.

That's a pretty common comment that you mentioned about booty calls. Considering Jacob is the only male LI to actually ask you how you're doing, it's pretty presumptuous for that poster who hasn't actually played through the romance. I haven't read the Fight for the love thread, although I agree with its premise. I don't see why gay people shouldn't have the right to romance good looking characters too.

Those people think of Jacob like that because of his body and the famous Priiize line. Everytime someone judges a character without knowing anything about him/her a kitten dies and JT is dissapoint.

and that goes double for someone I know  who hasn't played ME1 and started with ME2. Miranda is the turtorial guide, but Jacob provides the initial sense of safety.

Besides, Jacob looks good in that rubber-spandex mix that apparently passes for armor according to Cerberus! (Just sayin'.)

And unlike Miranda he has some kind of armor at some parts of his outfit... I still would've prefered his Galaxy armor though

I still maintain that the "rubber suits" are made of bullet proof, flame retardant, electric proof material that allows them the mobility all biotics need.Image IPB

What if the suits are so tight so that they will distract people from the Cerberus logos painted everywhere on anything Cerberus? :bandit:

for MAss effectI just find it that most female are intrigued by "humping" (for lack of a better term) men of different species. Kaidan's called a whiner for his BaAt story even though he says his past is fine but garrus complains nonstop about c-Sec and his dad in ME1 and then about his Omega team in Me2 yet he's one of the most popular femshep LI's. Thane's mysterious and talks alot about his dead wife and he 's up there in popularity as an LI too. I jsut did a poll in the femshep threads about who they'd romance besides their canon choice and not one of them said Jacob and when asked why they said "because of how Hale talks to him" I nearly concussed myself with the facepalm that resulted.Image IPB

This, this is what I can't stand, JT being blamed for something he didn't do. <_<

I don't know if most of us were blaming Jacob (at least I wasn't). I think saying we didn't go for the romance because of Hale's VA....sounds like we're blaming Hale's VA :P

Now if you're saying it's unfair that people didn't give Jacob a shot through no fault of his own, yes it's unfair, but if you're just going through the game roleplaying, it's hard to metagame through a weird conversation because you know it will get better later.

I don't know if it makes you all feel any better, but Jacob is my second and I guess only other choice for femsheps that would normally go for Kaidan. Thane is too dramatic (it took me some time before I could figure out a character that would prefer someone like him O_O, and for her Jacob would be the other choice as well, btw) and Garrus is too much of a best bud.

Jen Hales VO definitely doesn't help, but other then that I like Jacob a great deal..

Whats wrong about showing off a logo that the known galaxy perceives as evil.

Wow, XD

It's cool that Jacob makes a cameo in the "false future" vision. My guess is with Samara's line, "Future events will either make him into a great man, or break him" means there's something important for him in future.
