I hope BioWare does not give up on Jacob because of all the hate he gets, i hope he comes back as bad ass as Sheperd, because hey he is the closest thing to Shepard on the ship.

What's up JT thread? I've been gone for a while, but I read the GI article and decided to come back.
Anyway, to me it seems like JT will come back for ME3 because of the fact that we are fighting Cerberus so having an insider would be useful to Shepard (well ok, Miranda may be more useful in that regard, but whatever) and he does have the LI ticket so his chances are pretty good.

The reasoning for Jacob's absence seemed dubious at best in that article. I understand that he is not a terribly popular character, but he is a romance option, so that could save him. I think he'll make an appearance as a temporary squadmate, perhaps in a mission relating to Cerberus.

I don't think he's nearly as unpopular as some make him out to be. according to statistics, majority of players play maleshep, so all they get is bro dialogue and Jacob has the absolute best bro dialogue (sorry Garrus - I adore you and all, but those damn calibrations...)

people posting on these forums are a very small minority. so I really hope Bioware won't waste a great character with a very interesting history with both alliance and cerberus (we never did get to explore alliance corsairs, among other things), just because there are a few vocal people who dislike him.

Anyway Jacob isn't actually unpopular, he's infamous ^^

I mean who hasn't heard of THE PRIIIZE?

But personally, since I have never played ME1, I enjoyed Jacob's romance the most. It was a strange and rocky road. I had to be careful of Shepard's dialogue because since this game does not have the approval system, one wrong line with Jacob and he breaks up with Shep.

And also, i am a total sucker for guys who say "I Love You" (yeah, i know Thane write but that's not the same). His VA did a great job there. I was like melting XP

Yay for Jacob. Just thought I'd stop in with some random support for my favorite human character. He's a great guy that is under appreciated, around these boards at any rate. FemShep's Bro Jacob elevates him to a whole new level of awesome. I love the fact that you get that strong sense of camaraderie without having to romance him.

Of all the human characters Jacob is the only one that I'll be disappointed if he doesn't come back...and that's counting the already confirmed Ashley/Kaidan. Not my favorite people personally, but they've got their fans. I'd just assume have Jacob instead. He's a straight up decent guy, regardless of what a tool his father turned out to be.

It's too bad I'm such a sucker for aliens when it comes to choosing my party members...

Yeah, JT has a bad rep, but to be honest he is the most realistic (ie. normal) human in the game, what makes him "boring" to most people makes him a cool dude to me.

I agree. It's refreshing to actually have a character that is a well-adjusted guy with his head on straight. He's the kind of person that would be be one of my best friends in the real life because he's honest and genuine. 

It's kind of sad when just being a good person without an axe to grind equates to boring...

Ironically Jacob has amongst the most conversation lines of all the squadmates, yet I am constantly forgetting to go talk to him. Its not that I don't like Jacob, I just... kinda forget about him.

You know for the longest time I'd get lost in that portion of the ship because I could never figure out which one of the fricken doors went to where and I invariably went through the wrong one every time. After three play throughs it's painfully obvious how simple it is now. I'm pretty meticulous about getting all the character dialogue on my first time through though so I didn't miss much, despite getting lost whenever I went in search of Jacob .

It's certainly a possibly, but what I meant is Sanders will most likely fill in the traditional "Male Sidekick" role that's in every Bioware game. The Kaidan and Jacob to your Shepard. The Alistair to your Grey Warden.

 Maybe he will go fight Cerberus on his own? I could see that, after all he is the one who didn't trust Cerberus in the beginning and I could see him feeling betrayed after TIM demanded that Shepard save the CB (whether he got it or not).

That's what I'm crossing my fingers for. It'll even go in line with Samara's prophesy "Future events will either make him great, or destory him."

I am really looking forward to romancing Jacob, since he is a LI he must be around i ME3 provided that he survives ME2. He is that cool calm guy that will be there beside you when all is crashing down. Just haven't had time yet, still stuck in DA2. Think romancing Jacob will be one of the things I do when getting the hype on for ME3 =)

I pair squadmates in ME2, since I use everyone for missions. It's either their role in the game or just my head canon as to whom they would get along with. Role would be Jacob and Miranda as the Cerberus Posse. Made up pairing, Legion. I can just imagine him and Legion palling around, I know he hates Geth, but meh.

*Jacob approaches Legion, wanting to know more about Geth and Heretics*
Legion: Taylor-Jacob. Ready for inquiry.
Jacob: Legion, I don't trust you yet- Hey wait, why did you call me Taylor-Jacob?

He and Garrus might get along too, but honestly they are both too high-strung.

One thing I hate is when Tali fans blame Jacob for the confrontation between the two characters. Jacob is courteous while tali is sarcastic and rude but when Jacob mentions EI he's "upsetting the already antagonized Tali" Tali is a pure B*tch in that scene yet it's Jacob who takes the blame for that despite being a gentlemen. *end of random rant*
