I don't fault him either and it seems in-line with his character.

It still definitely comes off as rude to me, but I think that might have been the intention.  To me it's the tone, more so than the wording that is jarring.  It's the way he says "Already?" He sounds irritated to me, but that's my perception.

That said, it goes along with his general mistrust of others from working with Cerberus.  It leads into his 1st conversation (?) where he is very abrupt, before apologizing for sounding so 'tight-ass'.

I can't fault him for being wary of new people though, I'm the same way.  I've heard more than once 'before I got to know you I thought you were a total jerk'.

Perceptions and interpretations vary of course.  Especially with Jacob I've noticed.

I would say that I definately felt much the same when talking to him, which is why I'm annoyed that if you try to be friendly towards him, femShep just sounds like she wants to get in his pants from the word "go". It's a damn shame because I really like him as Shepard's mirror - the good guy forced to work for the bad guys - and we know that's how he actually sees Cerberus, but at least he can do something there. I think it's a pity that he's so underdeveloped and has so little dialogue, because his character had so much potential to be Shepard's counter or backup. But the structure of the game just doesn't let us see that side of him, which is really where the rub lies - they wrote him as the sympathetic support character but we never actually have any such moments outside the Normandy.

Well, I guess that all the LI:s are coming back in some way. Jacob better come back =) I wonder if they all will be team-mates or if they team up for certain parts of the game. Hmmm... just hope we will get to see him at E3. Kaidan and Liara are still my fav's but Jacob is a really great guy and I'll have one or two Sheps for him.

The way Jacob comes out as 'not wanting to share' really makes sense with him being the good guy working for Cerberus.
My FemShep was really happy to have have him around at the beginning and felt very much like him.

Saddly, it doesnt allow for much character interaction. Like hes too in character for his own good. So Shep and him driffed apart very fast.

Its a waste of a cool character if you dont romance him. And even in his romance, he makes me feel like im bullying him somehow.

You guys might know why he wants to do the tech mission in the SM. He says hes alright after his loyalty mission but at the same time that comment makes me feel like he wants to die. Maybe hes not as ok as he says he is.

If Jacob doesn't have an afro and a repertoire of cool quips by the time of ME3, I'mma go back to ME2 and kill him.

I think Bioware wrote the dialog before they finalized ME2. In Mass Effect Galaxy, Jacob had tech powers. In the original build of ME2 Jacob had Warp and Overload but those powers were given to Miranda. Miranda got all the cool powers, Slam was originally Jack's power.

lol, he says it in such a good way =) and there is a short little moment when he looks at a couple of inmates when you are on purgatory getting Jack, you can really see that he does not like that place, at all. Think I will bring him with me to every mission on this shep.

Think the romancepart will start pretty soon, last convo we just talked about why he joined Cerberus. Shep asked about Jacob's father but he sort of brushed it of. Said that they didn't know eachother well enough for that. Hmmm.... it feelt really ok. I didn't take that as being unfriendly, Joacob is just showing where he draws the line. This time I pretty much take him with me everywhere and I like him. The little thing he says after Horizon, about how it made it hit home, what the mission is all about was really good. I like the extra screen time he gets after every new member joins the crew. Makes it feel like Shep wants him to take part in the big things that happens on Normandy. Just wish you could have a conversation with him after the new person left.

I just did the really wonderful conversation with Jacob. The one where you both confirm that you are interested in each other. When he says, "you know what gets to me? You". The kiss on the check is really cute and I like how his voice is so much softer when he talks to my shepard in this conversation than how it is usually. Wow... I just got hit by Jacob =) he is great!

I was mislead earlier because he talks a little rougher in the beginning, but he is wonderful when you get close. So glad he will be in ME3 =) hope he will get some good conversations!
