ME3 looked good but Ashley in a catsuit and no Jacob makes Darc a sad panda. Krogan female equals win though.

No Jacob, seriously.

Yes, it's a bummer.  I'll probably have to gravitate to ME3's underdog then, whoever that might be.  Oh, hi, James.

Let's just hope that the few scenes Jacob manages to land in ME3 are fantastic.

Edit: 200!  Congratulations, Jacob fans.

@ Lazuli great pic! Thanks for posting =)

Aww guys, they just started with the info. Don't worry yet. I'm sure that there will be plenty of Jacob to be had. Besides, all the ME2 LI:s are treated the same, they won't leave all of us hanging. We will get some more info soon I'm sure.

Hmmm.... we know that Jacob won't be a regular squad member, so what do you guys think that he is up to. If cerberus are chasing Shep in ME3 he probably won't be with them anymore. So what is the guy doing and why isn't he with Shep. Any ideas? I guess that he's trying to fix some kind of important mission or operation, he is in charge somewhere else and that's why he is busy. Could he be rallying his old contacts from the corsairs? Wild speculations, I have no idea.

Ohh well, let's hope for some good info soon =)

Trying to find the info, don't remember where I read it but I think it will be Liara, Garrus, Ash/Kaidan, James Vega and Tali. Anyone who's got a good link, my internet-skills apparently suck =)

Hmm.... Collider, you got me thinking. It could be that he simply isn't confirmed yet. Who knows, I read somewhere that they were going to focus on a smaller squad in this game and quite a few from the ME are already confirmed. Maybe Jacob will be a member     =)    guess we will just have to wait and see. But I guess that they will still have some mission or other that is tied to them. One part of the game in which they get special attention, or I hope so at least.

Sadly from the last squadmate reveals it seems like the only thing that decides if a squadmate fully returns is their popularity here... <_<
EDIT: 200 pages! Thanks everyone who contributed here! Now let's have another 100 pages of on topic Jacob discussion! :wizard:

So Jacob no perma-squaddie, then?

I'm fine with that. I'd love to see Shepard run into some touble and get backup from Jacob leading his own team in ME3. Same with Wrex, except replace 'team' with 'civilisation'.

Long time no see ya'll. It is rather sad that Jacob probably won't be a perma-squadmember, I posted in almost every "who should be a perma-squadmember in ME3" but I wasn't met with much support.

Oki guys. Can you help me out with a Jacob question here. First time around ME2 I got Jacob the wrong way pretty much all the time. His comment that Miranda needed a better man than him got me thinking that he wasn't over her and I left him alone as far as the romance goes. Read a disscusion here about it being more of a remark that he found Miranda a bit high maintance. That really got me thinking and I see him in a very different way now after romancing him in one game.

So here is my new question. When your Shep are just about to start the SM, you are planning what do do after the Normandy has crashed. Why does Jacob volunteer to do the tech-job that he himself says is pretty much a suicide job.

Jacob: That's pretty much a suicide job, I volunter  B)

My Shep:
1st reaction: But you said we should spend some time after this  *slight tremble on the lower lip* :crying:.
2:nd reaction: "You aint going nowhere. Leave that job to a techie and get your good looking ass over here, you're coming with me".

Oki, so what is it that I'm missing this time around    :)   is Jacob trying to get the team to feel pumped up for the mission, by stepping up to take a dangerous part himself. You know, lead by example sort of? Just interested to hear how you look at it.

edit: spelling as always

I think it's both being brave and boosting team morale.
I also think that Jacob's ready to die if he has to.
Most of the game isn't aware of the romances, so I wouldn't really fault Jacob for saying it with the romance active.

In that sense, I think Jacob was attempting to take the burden off of Shepard. Out of all the squadmates, only Jacob asks Shep about the burden of leading the Squad (both when you first baord the normandy and during his romance) and considering the amount of pressure that was on Shep during this time, I always assumed Jacob was stepping up for His/Her sake.

That and it was pretty ballsy since he isn't a tech expert.

On a more technical side, I think this was Bioware testing the player on how much they actually paid attention to the characters' dossiers. Same with Miranda volunteering to do the Biotic Barrier.

Somebody break out the Ryncol for page 200. As for the Jacob's tech abilities he had them in Galaxy and in the early ME2 builds. Then they gave his Warp and Overload skill set to Miranda along with Jack's Slam ability....

I don't believe that for one sec =) they wouldn't remove a LI that way. "Ohh... you didn't see it but after the Arrival-dlc Jacob was attacked by dozens and dozens of varrens, very sad. He won't be coming back". All the people that were important in your game will come back. I take that as the VS is coming back and the people that survived the SM. And your normandy-crew if you got going in time. But if he is a squadie is another question. But I am a 100% sure that he will be back in one way or another =)

Jupp... a hopeless romantic has to be positive =)

If Jacob is not a Permanent squadmate, Then i'll imagine Bioware will give him a really badass scene and alot of the haters will say Jacob is cool now and that he should have been on the squad.

Jacob will be the Raiden of the Mass effect series.

When I think about it, I don't think Bioware or the ME team would be petty enough to forsake one of their own characters due to a bunch of haters. So,

Hear, hear!

Also, what's up with the avatar? I've seen four pony-picture so far, today ._.

Yea, I'm disappointed. Jacob was one of my top 6 people I wanted back on my Shepard's squad.

Pisses me off that one squad mate I like is coming back and I'd rather work for Cerberus than the Alliance. Damn popularity contest.

Why? Bioware denied us the delicious irony of Jacob being the most useful squadmate.

Honestly though I felt Jacob should of had Throw and Overload and Miranda should of had Warp and Pull.

The lack of Jacob being a squadmate is dissapointing but expected. Popularity aside, Jacob and the rest of the ME2 squaddies could die, and that is a massively large drawback in making them permanent squadmates. The only reason Garrus and Tali get freebies are because their fanbases are outrageously huge.

Ah well, I hope his role in ME3 will make people see how kick ass Jacob is.
