You could always just use Captain Sisko, they look a little similar. Speaking of which, Sisko had the same problem as Jacob but reversed, at the beginning of Deep Space Nine, he had a head of hair and looked good, but later on in the series he shaved it all off and didn't look as good, funny thing that.
Sisko (Avery Brooks) looked better bald with a goatee. It was a throw back to his days as Hawk on the "Spenser For Hire" series.

Yeah, if he had access to say, the Alliance's Standard Issue Assault rifle, I wouldn't have to micro manage him as much, no more orders to advance so he can be in effective range with the shotgun anymore, that would be a godsend.

Sorry about getting off topic a little here, It's actually really good, if you have any intrest in Star Trek, I'd strongly suggest looking in on it, my favorite series (yes I like it even more then TNG).
I do like the Goatee, and I'm happy they gave my Bro Jacob Taylor some facial hair, I feel it fits better then the clean shave in Mass Effect Galaxies.

I've been to the DS9 bar in Las Vegas...apparently, it's a perfect replica of part of DS9. A Ferengi runs the bar. He stopped by to see if we were spending enough money.

Heavy difference...
He wasn't quite africanized. Needed more lip and nostril so that Bioware didn't get accused of making a "safe" black character. So they went from Boris Kodjoe to Robert Mugabe. Sadly they didn't compensate for his thicker lips resulting in that weird lip curl effect.
