Good, please let me read the first chapter before uploading so I can see if you haven't made any mistakes with the canon. After that you can just put them online.
What do you thibnk about the UPSC meets the Council short? It's on the previous page I think. I may finish it today, I'm tired (it's only 9:24pm, but I had a boring day at school), so I'm not really in the shape to write the main story, but the short is easier, so I may finish it today.

I'll have to agree w/ Privateerkev. I don't mind actual fan based discusion of Jacob and I don't not like him as a character but honestly I liked our epic 100 page on topic discusion. I need a place to express the good stuff or I'll get spaced
I hope we can coexist but I didn't come here to talk.

I think Privateerkev had revived the Harbringer vs The Priiize thread to continue the piramid quoting.
We are trying to improve our relationship with the Tali thread and they just started to taking us seriously (they thought this was a joke thread) and if this thread changes into a joke thread all the hard work of our Ambassador will be undone.
This thread is a serious fan thread now and that's why I disapprove of Jacob piramide quotes, don't get me wrong I don't have anything against The Priiize, but I don't think it will help this thread.

I think I'll make something about his years with the Corsairs and in that mission you'll discover more things about Jacob's past and also when you've finished his loyalty mission he will open up more.
In that way you can make him more appealing to the masses without changing his character too much.

This is actually a point I have thought about. When I think of Jacob I think of priiiiize mainly. However, I thought Jacob had some potential and it's not his fault it wasn't used. They should have played out his attitude more, for instance, when you meet him he tries to convey how he doesn't trust Cerberous but he works for them anyway. That leads me to 2 conclusions. Maybe this guy isn't so bad and maybe I can trust him or this guy is a hypocryte and might stab me in the back. A loyalty mission involving his conflict with his position in Cerberous and some more about how he came to be there would have resolved some issues and made him a stronger character. I did not play the mini Jacob game and have no intention too, imo you can't just throw down a character and expect it to build itself. Ofcourse, a loyalty mission would need lots of good stuff.... and priiiize....

And I'll do my best to direct those who want a more serious Jacob discussion over here.
Sorry it had to end like this but it is probably for the best. Two different threads will allow both to be more streamlined and on-topic. And the two seem to have mainly seperate fanbases that are there for very different reasons.
Good luck and I'm glad to see Jacob get a little more respect around here. Every character deserves a thread where people can discuss them with other like-minded folks.

The loyalty missions were the make or break point for possibly all of the squadmates in the game. People who didn't like Jack suddenly felt sympathy for her. People suddenly found themselves lost in the harsh grey world that Mordin lived in with the STG. Miranda became a human being. Samara's grief over Morinth became palpable.gashgfjaskgfkagh wrote...

Jacob's loyalty mission was a lost opportunity. You knew going into the mission that Jacob didn't much like his father, and you leave the mission knowing Jacob doesn't much like his father. The details of the mission itself leave no room for elements of grey, you're pretty much left little choice but to be disgusted with Ronald Taylor's actions. Perhaps if they hadn't thrown in the whole ten-year delay and issue became the morality of subjecting the crew to a possibly irreversible decay for the sake of having someone left to work on the beacon. Instead, it was subjecting the crew to the decay for as long as possible while living in a juvenile fantasy -- there isn't much grey in that.
I'd have preferred a completely different mission altogether. Jacob makes a big deal about not wanting red tape to get in the way of action. A mission could be designed showing the implications of action without thinking. It would serve as a reminder that, while he's with Cerberus because they promise immediate action, there are unforeseen consequences. Another mission could put him up against the consequences of being affiliated with Cerberus as well -- Jacob wants to be remembered for doing the right thing in the end. However, doing the right thing with the wrong organization shows that sometimes there are no rewards for doing the right thing.
Eh. Or maybe just have something to do with his time in the Corsairs. Or against Batarians. Keep it simple.

It would make more sense if Jacob loved his father and then when he dicovered what he has done he would be devasted. Now it's more of an "Father, I'm dissapoint." moment.

Jacob's loyalty mission really sucked. He didn't even had his moment (Miranda meeting her sister, Tali finding her father's body, Mordin talking about the Genophage by the dead Krogan female, Jack talking about her past etc.).

I really liked his Loyalty Mission actually, it was very messed up and I love the contrast between Ronald and Jacob Taylor the game portrayed. Jacob is paragon shepard lite, while Ronald is pretty much one of the most messed up individuals that I've come across in the entire galaxy.
Plus you got to reval in the unspoken dialogue, Ronald Taylor didn't even agnology his only son, he was so caught up with trying to throw up lie after lie to cover up his mess he made, and Jacob figured out that this monster is indeed, his father, deep.

I never looked at his loyalty mission like this, but I gues you're right.
Have you read UPSC meets the Council spin-off? It's a little thing I wrote as a warming up for the main story.
I'll probably upload the first chapter tommorow.

Only if they atleast gave him his own moment like Tali finding her fathers body or Miranda meeting her sister that kind of moments make the character more interesting.Collider wrote...
The thing with Jacob's loyalty mission is that we learned nothing new about Jacob. That's the problem, Jacob felt very sideline and side character compared to the other loyalty missions.
