I think his history on Eden Prime was untapped potential. I don't know if I somehow missed the conversation points up until then, but I didn't even know Jacob was supposed to have been on Eden Prime until he mentions it while examining the husks on Horizon. Then Shepard asks Jacob if he's okay when we see the dragon's teeth on the Derelict Reaper. But as far as I know, there's no "you were on Eden Prime, huh" moments between the two. Seems kind of an important connection between the two to just shove into background dialogue, especially if Shepard is going to show some concern about it.
Jacob is so intent on not talking about his past, it's hard to find what you can talk about with him. If you ask about the mission, he just indicates whether or not he thinks everyone is ready. If you ask about his dad, he says he doesn't want to talk about it. Okay, what do you want to talk about, Jacob? The priiize?
Oh dammit, we almost went four pages without someone saying that...
If you're femshep, he's the only one other than Dr. Chakwas who even bothers to ask how are you doing. Other than that, he needs liquor at a bar to open himself up, and I'm down with that.

Grunt is a great shocktrooper. I love how he yells I AM KROGAN, charges into a powerful enemy on insanity, and gets himself killed. Don't get me wrong. I love grunt as squadmate, especially on the reaper IFF mission. However, for all his health, he doesn't survive that much longer than other squaddies. Should be noted, that while Grunt gets the krogan vitality, he gets no cooldown bonus'. His 12 sec cooldown for concussive shot and fortification will always be 12 seconds. Jacob gets a 9 sec cooldown with pull, which improves with the biotic cooldown which also affects his barrier.

The Admiral is obsessed with it, that's why I'm using it so often. He's the only one really mentioning it. I'll probably let him MAC somone in the next chapter so he has a reason to stop with it for a while.
Jacob will get some action in the next chapter I finally have a reason to use all that weapons I've made up for this fic!
