Greetings from the Tali thread. I know our respective characters aren't on the best of terms but I want to lend my support to this thread. Jacob has grown on me, he's like my second bro after Garrus and has some pretty funny lines.
Keep it up guys

Jacob is a pretty cool guy. He's rock solid, and normal and I respect that.
Every time I want to do a revnege playthrough and kill off the cerberus operatives I can't do it because Jacob doesn't deserve any of the hate he gets

- I chose to turn him over to the Alliance. I play my Shephard mostly renegade and neutral. The mission's goal is to get Jacob's head screwed on straight. Seeing or hearing his father blow his brains out is not likely to clear his mind. If he deserves death the Alliance can make that choice after he stands trial for war crimes. If I were Jake and Shep suggest that I do that; I don't think I'd want to be loyal to him. Shep comes off as an ass in that scene even for renegade. Finally I usually choose to shake Jacob's hand after the Miranda incident and that clashes with suggesting earlier that his father blow his brains out. It's not a good match IMO.
2. What did you most like about Jacob's loyalty mission?
- The scenery. His mission is solid. No complaints. Good mix of action and story.
3. Would you ever consider romancing Jacob on a femShep?
- Yes. My fem shep hasn't done it yet because I play male Shep mostly. If Fem shep is attracted to a turian over Jacob she needs to get her head examined. Sick. Comes close to beastiality IMO. Same for Tali with male Shep. Can't do it. Sorry.
4. How would you improve Jacob's romance? That includes what femShep says and how she says it.
- I don't know right now. Pass.
5. Is Jacob your Shepard's bro?
- Yes. He's a nice paragon contrast to my renegade.
6. Do you bring Jacob along a lot?
- Yes. Especially after Heavy Barrier is obtained. He along with Grunt (Fortification) and Legion (Geth shield boost) are my faves. Notice that they're all tanks or pseudo tanks. The other squad members are just too weak for me without one of these 3 to go with them.
7. What do you think about Jacob's battle quotes?
- They're great. My fave is "Your Done!"
8. Do you expect to see Jacob as a squad mate in ME3?
- Seriously, I don't know. He'll definitely survive my game. I hope so.
9. Do you agree with what Jacob said about Thane?
- Do I agree with it? I look at it this way the characters in the game don't know as much about each other as the player knows. We know Thane can be trusted but if I were Shep or Jake I wouldn't trust him. He's an assasin for hire so his loyaties should be questionable. For drama's sake I'm neutral to Thane until he leaves the room ("be
civil people"). My Shep then tells Jake to keep an eye on him. Great Jacob scene.
10.
Have you ever played Galaxy? What did you think about it? If you'renever played it, are you interested now that you've played ME2?
- Never played ME Galaxy and I'm not getting the hardware to play it. I'm satisfied looking at pics of the game and knowing the plot of it.
11. Which is better looking: Jacob's galaxy appearanceor Jacob's ME2 appearance?
- ME 2. He looks realistic. ME Galaxy's version looks like a cartoon character.
12. If you could alter Jacob's skillset, how would you?
- Jake is good as is but since he's a vanguard I'd give him barrier from the beginning. I'd also give him biotic charge but only the player would determine when he'd use it. I wouldn't trust such a risky move to the AI. Who knows what he may possess in ME3 because he had tech overload in ME Galaxy.
13. Why do you think Jacob and Miranda didn't work out?
- Easy. It wasn't a serious relationship to start with. Miranda comes off as a **** in the beginning so it's not that hard to imagine Jake wanting out. I never got the impression that Jake even misses Miranda at all. They're friends but old news.
14. How did you first get into ME1 (assuming you played ME1)?
-Read the positive reviews and bought it. I miss some of the ME 1 gameplay mechanics though.
15. Is your Shepard paragon or renegade? Or perhaps Paragade, Neutral, or Renegon?
- My Shephard now is Renegon and neutral. I used to play entirely renegade. Now I mod the game to max both paragon and renegade so I have freedom of choice. Bioware really screwed up by forcing players to play mostly paragon or renegade. It really kills the replayability of the game IMO. Mod the game and it's all good though.
16. Is there anything you especially agree or disagree with Jacob in terms of his views?
- Nothing in particular.

Serious question though. Which of Jacob's outfits did you like better?
I liked the orange one better, Jacob looked disproportionate to me in the white one, his waist looked too small.

So since I've made it clear I don't care for Jacob's romance, I will say I like Jacob as a bro. Got the impression he was the sort who knew how to put matters of the job at bay and concentrate on just having a good time. For as intense a job as he and Shepard have, being able to put that aside is actual a valuable trait to have.
Why did Jacob and Miranda not work out? Miranda's high maintenance. Jacob doesn't like dealing with bull****.

First time I just left him to die with no gun. Second time I reconsidered and just had him arrested. I think that leaving him with the gun or putting him in prison are both acceptable. He needs to be punished. I'm just not sure if the punishment has to be so grizzly as just leaving him with no gun. Plus just leaving him kind of feels like I accomplished little and did nothing.
2. What did you most like about Jacob's loyalty mission?
I love the environment and the music. It's fantastic and I went "wow" in my head when I played it and I really thought about how much I was impressed and appreciative of the game.
3. Would you ever consider romancing Jacob on a femShep?
If the romance matures in ME3, I will probably make a playthrough some way down the line.
4. How would you improve Jacob's romance? That includes what femShep says and how she says it.
Make femShep sound normal, ditch just about everything that Jacob says besides asking her how she is.
5. Is Jacob your Shepard's bro?
Yes, along with Garrus.
6. Do you bring Jacob along a lot?
Tali and Jacob/Mordin/Garrus are my primary team and I basically use nothing else.
7. What do you think about Jacob's battle quotes?
Some of them are annoying. Some are them are good. They're definitely better than Grunt...Grunt makes me want to say STFU.
8. Do you expect to see Jacob as a squad mate in ME3?
Yea, and I hope he is. He should be one. Not to mention where is he going to go.
9. Do you agree with what Jacob said about Thane?
I think he's justified to be cautious, but he shouldn't have said those things right in front of Thane.
10. Have you ever played Galaxy? What did you think about it? If you're never played it, are you interested now that you've played ME2?
11. Which is better looking: Jacob's galaxy appearance[/b]
Galaxy appearance by far.
12. If you could alter Jacob's skillset, how would you?
He would use the Shotguns and Assault Rifles, Pull and Statis (man would the enemies be ****ed), and maybe Overload/Barrier.
13. Why do you think Jacob and Miranda didn't work out?
Miranda was high maintenance I guess.
14. How did you first get into ME1 (assuming you played ME1)?
I heard about the moral choices and was intrigued. I decided to give the game a shot and I borrowed the game from a friend, rest is history.
15. Is your Shepard paragon or renegade? Or perhaps Paragade, Neutral, or Renegon?
Paragade - a nice guy but not afraid to shoot the people who deserve it.
16. Is there anything you especially agree or disagree with Jacob in terms of his views?
I agree with most of what he says aside from rushing into the omega relay and joining Cerberus.

Here are some questions for you all.
1. What did you do with Jacob's father and why?
2. What did you most like about Jacob's loyalty mission?
3. Would you ever consider romancing Jacob on a femShep?
4. How would you improve Jacob's romance? That includes what femShep says and how she says it.
5. Is Jacob your Shepard's bro?
6. Do you bring Jacob along a lot?

10. Have you ever played Galaxy? What did you think about it? If you're never played it, are you interested now that you've played ME2?

15. Is your Shepard paragon or renegade? Or perhaps Paragade, Neutral, or Renegon?
16. Is there anything you especially agree or disagree with Jacob in terms of his views?
2. The scenery, maybe the nicest scenery except Kasumi's mission that I can think of.
3. My femshep did. Garrus is more like an old friend, his romance seemed forced (although it was funny). I considered Thane because he is cool too, but why would femshep get involved with someone who is likely to die soon (even if they survived the suicide mission)? Reminded me of the woman in the tv show House who married a guy she knew would die and all her relationships after that are screwed up because of it.
4. I didn't think it was that bad although femshep did seem lecherous. I can live with it the way it is.
5. He is my paragon maleshep's bro, my femshep's lover.
6. Not as much my first few runs because I wanted to see what new characters were like as I recruited them, but I use him more now that I have seen everyone and know how to use him.
7. I actually thought he could use some better ones. "Get over here" was a nice blast from the past though.
8. Yes. I expect Cerberus to turn on Shepard and he will stay with him/her. Even with his lack of popularity, what other character has their own game?
9. If I were Jacob, I would give Thane a chance before saying something, but I don't trust assassins either (who would?)
10. I definately would get it if I had a I-phone.
11. They both look cool to me, but because of the whole Kanye thing they should have made him look more like in Galaxy.
12. I would have liked to see every character with 1 more power, but I don't think I would change Jacob's powers. I wish he had an assault rifle instead of a shotgun. IMO shotguns on squadmembers are almost useless.
13. Don't know. Probably a mutual thing. They don't seem like a good couple to me. I thought it would be interesting if you can ask your LI about it in ME3 if you picked either one in ME2.
14. A space rpg seemed interesting and it got great reviews so I bought it and played it. ME was great was ME2 is the best.
15. First Shep was male almost pure Paragon, second was female Renegon? (more renegade than paragon), currently doing male almost pure Renegade.
16. I would never have joined/worked with Cerberus. Of course you don't have a choice in that. Otherwise, I agree with all his views I can think of.

Of course, stasis could work like it did in ME1 and all it does is keep the enemy out of your hair until it wears off. Maybe allow for damage if you evolve it to the fourth level.Collider wrote...
*snip*
12. If you could alter Jacob's skillset, how would you?
He would use the Shotguns and Assault Rifles, Pull and Statis (man would the enemies be ****ed), and maybe Overload/Barrier.
I'd have liked the ammo powers to have been separated from all the other powers because I don't like how it takes up that fourth slot for the squadmates, preventing them from having additional tech/biotic powers to use. I actually would overhall the whole ammo/weapon system. In ME1, any squadmate could use any ammo type so long as you had the upgrade. I'd continue along those lines, but limit which weapons could accept which ammo types. As a rough example, imagine the Tempest being capable of shooting cryo rounds, but incapable of shooting incendiary. Alternatively, the Locust could shoot incendiary, but not cryo. That way the limiting factor is more about what kind of gun your squadmate is proficient in.
Anyway, back to Jacob.... no squadmate actually has the shotgun/assault rifle combination, do they? No wait, Grunt does.... But anyway, as a close combat ex-Alliance soldier, makes sense to me that Jacob be able to use both, too. Not sure what other powers to give him other than the Pull and Barrier that he already has. He doesn't strike me as the tech sort, so I wouldn't give him Overload. Maybe I should try to get creative and think about completely new powers they should add in ME3.
I think I started to ignore whatever advice or opinion Jacob was having regardless of whether I agreed with it or not. Think I was miffed that only Jacob and/or Miranda was there to greet new squadmates and attend meetings.Collider wrote...
16. Is there anything you especially agree or disagree with Jacob in terms of his views?
I agree with most of what he says aside from rushing into the omega relay.
Now I'm picturing Shepard calling for a meeting that he wants all squadmates to attend, but they view it like you would having to attend some mandatory corporate meeting, so they keep coming up with excuses not to attend.
Garrus: I'll have to skip this one, Shepard, these calibrations can't wait.
Mordin: Not now. Critical stage of experiment. Large explosion if interrupted.
Grunt: You humans talk to much. Like the tank.
Jack: **** you and your meetings, Shepard.
Tali: These engines really need my attention now, Shepard. I trust whatever decision you make. (Note: Tali actually spends the meeting time playing Skyllian Five power with the engineers.)
Zaeed: Your Illusive Man pays me to fight for you, not sit in your planning sessions.
Kasumi: (Is actually at the meetings, cloaked and staring at Jacob's butt.)
Thane: (Managed to hide so that Shepard never found him to tell him about the meeting. Also spends the meeting playing Skyllian Five.)
Samara: I will fight for you when it is time, no matter your plan, Shepard. (Continues meditating.)

For me it would have to be,
"Nuthin but a G Thang" by Dr. Dre and Snoop Dogg
"Boyz N Tha Hood" by Eazy-E

Hell, I don't know. I strongly believe that Jacob and I have very different choices in music, this is how it would play out. Jacob, Tali, and I would all board the Hammerhead, Jacob would ask for a hot beat to cruise to, and I'd turn on something like, Erasure's Always www.youtube.com/watch. Then Jacob would fallow up with a facepalm and maybe muttering too himself "Oh, not this again" while I do a sing along.
